Finals 2024 General Discussion Thread

It think its pretty obvious its Penrith Melbourne grand final. Best 2 teams.

Also. Are the NRL taking the piss? Why are rules different for semi's?
manly fully fit could give Penrith a real run for money in a major semi
Melbourne look almost certainties to get through

Probably wrong thread. But just watched Undisputed the TV series on the panthers. Sorry if already shared. But was amazing. A must watch. What a club they built. And now going for 4 which could have been 5. Lots of learning for our coach and club need to see and take I trust they have watched it over and over! Luai brings this so watch it

It’s an awesome doco.
We are privileged to see some great dynasties in Storm and Penrith.
Chances are they will write a new chapter in this year’s GF opposing each other.

Storm started their dynasty and will end it. Quite fitting and poetic

Yeah Storm look relaxed and super confident. Penrith are an amazing footballing beast but surely the juice runs out soon? If they make 5 GF's in a row in this day and age, their legacy likely surpasses St George for mine.
Scary thing about Penrith is they may not of peaked yet.

Replace superstars with apparent ease.

I know they were great vs Roosters but they haven't been the best team this year, or close to it. Even though they finished 2nd, the last 2 months after origin they've looked very unconvincing barring the roosters and dragons game. Storm have no injuries or niggles, and have beaten penrith in the GF before, and are 2-0 vs them this year. I wonder if that mental edge over penrith will be the difference in the end. I'm also not counting the sharks out to make the GF. Brandy saying to drop Hynes could motivate him for next week vs penrith should they beat cowboys (they should)

They are amazing.
I will say though that Paul Alamoti is a big step down from Stephen Criton as is Matty Eisenhuth from Spencer Leniu. They will be the difference this year.

Hard to argue, they seem to be better than the sum of their parts if that’s the right saying. Definitely play the game as a team.

Yep. They are weaknesses though and this year's Storm outfit look especially hungry and are more than experienced enough to exploit and attack them
It’s a potential cracker. Whoever shows up on the day wins it. Penrith need to work out how to nullify J Hughes game. He’s been huge this year.

Penrith will make the GF. Stephen Crichton not being there will be the deciding factor on them not winning. Even last year, cleary was the main man in the comeback, but Crichton was the 2nd best. He dived on a loose ball while down by 16 changing momentum, forced a few dropouts, and scored a big try. Also his defence was great. Alamoti will be targeted by Hughes and Eli Katoa. Nick Meaney is a good defender
