And they had two chances at a two point field goal. I used to hate the Dogs growing up, then the hate subsided for a long time. But I felt like it slowly crept back again this year. Great night.

What we've lacked is being able to hold players up in defense then push them back to dominate the Ruck so our defensive line is on the front foot
This club has the shittiest attitude when it comes to defense

I didnt see it that way at all, he came out and took full force of it so the players didn’t have to and they could get on with looking to win on the weekend.
I think Gus and the Dogs have been swindled by the Fox, and I’d be shocked if they tolerate it… he’s had a fairly free run over there being the first one to come across when they were a low club.
Reckon it will come out that he was told not to drive - cops left and he did…
And he’ll probably get the sack - and they’ll probably sign RCG… which was probably going to happen either way…

The media are going mad saying how well Gus has handled it, but none of them see that he is setting it up to completely screw JAC (even though he deserves it), to free up cap space.

Didn't really care who won it was the best game of the weekend though. Part of me wanted to see Brooks wait 10 years then bounce out off the bat.
Then the other part of me didn't want Gus to come out with his smug head tomorrow.
So I was ever so slightly on the side of Gus getting his knickers in a knot.
 
Jeez you’d be fuming if you were a doggies fan… 8 years of no finals then lose an elimination semi in which you dominated heavily for majority of the game.

Manly just hung in there and won due to individual brilliance… I reckon they beat the roosters next week. Manly still look like they have another gear in them and Roosters look shot

Been saying it a while,
Said it a while back and peaked a bit of back and forth…

We don’t tackle, we catch them - we don’t look to stop or change momentum in defence… we look to steady it.
Has been forever!!

Without Gaz Ellis and a few blokes who could really whack in D we’ve been pretty much lemons since…
It’s engrained in the joint.

I know a lower grade player at Parra who reckons Mahoney is a low human being outside of footy. He wouldn't say why, but it was very interesting the way he said it and tone he used. To this day I wonder what he is like, but I'll never really know I guess.

You need an identity as a footy side. For too long our identity has been the hard done by underdogs. So we play that way. Get some match winners, win some footy games and your identity changes. Pascoe & co just couldn’t recruit.

We’ll see if the next guy can.

Yea his very first public response. I thought straight away he is setting JAC up. It was always going to end in 2 positive tests. So Gus backing him, and also publicly quoting the convo he had with JAC was very unusual and doesn't happen often. It was my opinion that he knew exactly where this was going. However, JAC hasn't been sacked yet, so let's wait and see. Maybe I'm too cynical, but I reckon he gets sacked ASAP

If anything I think the old fox might have known he was getting BS’d by the younger Fox - can’t bullshit a bullshitter they say…

Either way, there was too much noise about it and he had to do what he did to get the heat off the team for the weekend.

If he’d have not come out and done it - the whole team would have been hammered about it and they’d be talking about it all week - moreso than they have. .
