Finals week 2 2025

Feel sorry for their fans, they had high hopes and their team just couldn’t perform in the games that mattered.
Empathy from tucker, I never thought I'd see the day 😂

I think the MPs should be paid a million dollars and get some other benefit such as their choice of opponent in week 1.
They put the work in over 6 months that no one else did.
Somewhat related, the AFL are paying snoop dogg 5 million for their grand final pre-game entertainment... Isn't that crazy in comparison to what the club and players are getting paid for the main spectacle.

Just on the Sharks…we on here often do not acknowledge their achievements. During the time we’ve been bumbling around, this is their returns:
  • 2012 - finals
  • 2013 - finals
  • 2014 - last place = this was the year the drugs stuff happened
  • 2015 - finals
  • 2016 - premiership
  • 2017 - finals
  • 2018 - preliminary final
  • 2019 - finals
  • 2020 - finals
  • 2021 - 9th place = the year they sacked their coach
  • 2022 - finals
  • 2023 - finals
  • 2024 - preliminary final
  • 2025 - preliminary final at worst
We could only dream of this.

Yeah I had a bad feeling Canberras season was going to end when Strange was ruled out.

Raiders had plenty of chances including Weekes but it’s almost like they forgot how to play football and shit the bed
Sharks defence was great and when they had chances to score they took them.
They’ll give Storm some big headaches next week.

They’ve always seemed like a team who just makes up the numbers every year, with this year being the first time in a while I can genuinely say they’re a threat

I think they beat Melbourne next week but fall short against Penrith / Brisbane in the big one

What will people say if Lachlan plays well today and is the difference?
There is a very unhealthy and reasonably pathetic obsession with watching him fail.
This isn’t life and death, it’s just footy people….
It will be one mighty effort if it pans out that way - penriff will target him all day in defence. If he can handle that and still have an influence in attack then i think he will have proven himself as a good footballer.

Funnily enough they are sneaking under the radar this finals series, the monkey's off their back after 2 wins where previously they have been criticised in a few finals appearances for going out early.

Make no prediction as to how far they can go but they look determined and on their game defensively.

Anyone see the Raiders press conference? Lasted just over 90 seconds. Ricky cops a lot of flak for being a whiner, but not enough for shutting down as well. I get they were the first MP’s in 15 years to be bailed out in straight sets, but be a man and actually speak. All he gave were one word answers, hence why it didn’t last two minutes. Arrogant twat.

Raiders right side defense...I had Iro & Mulitalo anytime try/sharks win $3 & $4

Looked like last week took a helluva lot out of Canberra
Total heartbreak for the Raiders.

to go down 28-29 and you could see they were trying everything. ... then boom, Sharks tired them and then ran over them.

I get the feeling that the Sharks would have beaten Brisbane too. However now Brisbane will be re-charged so should be interesting...

Pull your head out of your ass.

The purpose of the press conference is to answer questions that are asked; Ricky answered the questions without being rude or disrespectful - but now he's not a man and also an arrogant twat? Someone's projecting.

I didn't realise how consistent the sharks had been.. but it goes to show, no one cares if you finish 2nd-17th.. it only matters when you win the grand final...

So if the tigers win a grand final again say in 2030 and the sharkies haven't, even with our horrible inconsistencies over 30 years, we will have been a more successful club.

I don't think the Storm are playing well enough to win a tough match
Although the Sharks won by 20 points, I still don't think they still have played their best possible footy this year... If they bring it all together over the next fortnight then they could win the whole thing; and I don't think anyone saw it coming.

That fella Billy Burns has been a revelation for them.
61 games in 7 seasons, but is playing like a champ lately.
He did come through the Penrith system though so that makes sense.
Yep we sure could do I with one of those type of players in our pack. Strong running country kid. The best teams have at least one.

True only grand final wins get the highest recognition but us Tigers supporters at the moment would just love to make a finals appearance.

It can be deflating sitting at home watching the other teams going around as we miss out on the excitement yet again, if we competed in them, you would feel a degree of satisfaction at the end of their run instead of missing out altogether.

Cmon...

Look poor Ricky was heartbroken. This is Canberra loosing their finals window without Josh Papalii and their halfback...

I mean, ok I would have cracked it if he teared up... Yea, he was hurting and one word answers just show that.

No, no one saw it coming, except the Sharks players themselves maybe. I must admit I never take much notice of them throughout the seasons. I don’t know why, but like the Warriors I hardly ever give them a thought for some reason.

I found it interesting when I heard that the nucleus of this team has been together for some time now and have always bowed out of the finals early over the past few years. They are rarely seen as a premiership threat and have been through some tough times, that will bring a team together. Now with the addition of only one or two extra players they seem much more intent on going further this year.

Could this be their year? I still think Penrith, but maybe the two 1967 teams could end up playing each other in the GF, who knows.
