They’ve always seemed like a team who just makes up the numbers every year, with this year being the first time in a while I can genuinely say they’re a threat

I think they beat Melbourne next week but fall short against Penrith / Brisbane in the big one

If they’re making up the numbers, what are we?

I didn't realise how consistent the sharks had been.. but it goes to show, no one cares if you finish 2nd-17th.. it only matters when you win the grand final...

So if the tigers win a grand final again say in 2030 and the sharkies haven't, even with our horrible inconsistencies over 30 years, we will have been a more successful club.

I don’t agree with that at all. Not at all.
There are premier elite clubs in this competition who always operate at the pointy end. Then there are ridiculous pissant clubs like ours who don’t. Those clubs are respected whilst the likes of ours are not.
A premiership over the next 5 years won’t change that unless we make the finals in the other 4 and show excellent consistency and a willingness to perform at a high level.

Somewhat related, the AFL are paying snoop dogg 5 million for their grand final pre-game entertainment... Isn't that crazy in comparison to what the club and players are getting paid for the main spectacle.

Yeah, not the same. Zverev plays in grand slams with 128 players competing. We play in a competition where up until a year or two ago, half the sides in the comp played finals, and we’ve only managed to do it 3 times in 25 years. If grand slams consisted of only 16-17 players, Zverev would have a handful.

Brisbane have a bad record against Penrith but think their style would pump Dogs.

Just want to watch a grand final without Penrith.

Broncos v Sharks would be the most entertaining GF of the remaining teams.

We are complete garbage mate but history doesn’t lie with the sharks… prior to this year Sharks had 1 finals victory since 2016 and that was against the Cowboys.
They have always been the easy beats come finals time

Congrats to them for winning 2 straight big games.

I hated the Sharks with a passion during the period they won the comp. And it wasn’t hard to with wankers like Gallen, Fifita and Ennis playing for them, And I think I’ve disliked them by default ever since. However, it’s only been the last couple weeks I realised that all of the hate I had for them is gone. There’s really nothing to dislike about them these days. Will be an interesting match up next week. Initially I gave them no chance, but Melbourne aren’t in the form that a team playing in a prelim final should be in. Sharks are every chance.

Yeah I had a bad feeling Canberras season was going to end when Strange was ruled out.

Raiders had plenty of chances including Weekes but it’s almost like they forgot how to play football and shit the bed

IMO Raiders over achieved this year. They won 10 out of 14 games when trailing at half time. That is a rare feat and I doubt that they will ever do it again. Hence why they won MP.

It can be deflating sitting at home watching the other teams going around as we miss out on the excitement yet again, if we competed in them, you would feel a degree of satisfaction at the end of their run instead of missing out altogether.

It's also alot less stressful !

I get they were the first MP’s in 15 years to be bailed out in straight sets, but be a man and actually speak. All he gave were one word answers, hence why it didn’t last two minutes. Arrogant twat.

Tough assessment, his team went out in straight sets, had their chief attacking weapon drop out the morning of the game, he was heartbroken. He didn't offer any excuses for the loss. It's a long bow to call him arrogant based on that.

Yep didn’t have any issue with sticky’s conference, he looked like a broken man. From one of the favourites to being knocked out in straight sets would have been tough to swallow
