Harrigan is a Trouble Shooter, not an Administrator…

Personaly I feel they need to do a complete review of the Referees System which encompasses major reforms prior to appointing a new Boss. Failure to do so is unacceptable to the sponsors and fans who invest money into the game. I speak regularly with people involved within the game and not once has the issue of on-field performances of Officials not been raised. No one is happy with the fact that Referees are influencing the outcomes of games and this needs to change...

Agreed, with the relative closeness of teams, the role and influence of referees is critical to results. As recently as the 4 nations match between Australia and England people were complaining about referring decisions. Appointing a new person (probably McCallum) to take over without looking at the whole support systems and structure is a mistake and a bandaid at most.

we may complain about our refs a fair bit but they're better than the ref reffing the Aus vs NZ match tonight
