Does anyone have any news about Sussex Inlet. My mother lives there and I can't get hold of her.

Keeping a close eye on the fires near me page and to be honest mate, the area is looking pretty nasty. Hope things work out for you and your mum. I'm guessing that infrastructure burn out would affect communications. Best wishes to you

A lot of other clubs and players r doing fundraisers in support of helping fight the fires

Wonder if our club is going to follow suit

I hope so, especially as the Green Wattle Creek fire is in Wests territory

We are diligently working on some activities , all for the sole purpose of raising funds for the Bushfire appeal. We will also continue to work with the NRL on a collaborative approach to ensure we can continue to support.

Very cool down here today. A touch of rain this afternoon. Ridiculously thick smoke all day long and a blanket of ash like I've never seen. We get the feeling that things are easing somewhat, although the fire approaching Eden went a long way in a very short time and if that continues, things could get interesting. Hoping for a few more repeats of today. I have to say, the feeling of it being midnight in the middle of the day is a very strange feeling indeed.

These firies are bloody incredible aren't they?

They certainly are and are now belatedly getting a bit more of what they need. The input of the communities, their groups and in particular the surf lifesaving association has also been at fantastic levels.

The thoughts of all at Wests Tigers are with those who have been impacted by the devastating bushfire crisis across New South Wales and Australia as a whole.

Wests Tigers would like to recognise those who have lost so much during this time and extend its thanks to the countless firefighters, emergency services and volunteers for all that they have done so far.

Wests Tigers will continue to work both internally and with the NRL in regard to further response and support that can be given and will provide a number of auction items including money-can't-buy experiences to raise much-needed funds.

All proceeds will be donated to the Australian Red Cross Disaster Relief and Recovery Fund which will go to the Australian Red Cross’ work with many communities around Australia impacted by the fires.

Five team-signed and framed 2020 Wests Tigers jerseys are currently up for auction, while two game day experiences including tickets to a fully catered box, private meetings with the coaching staff and team are also available.

Auction items will close at 11:59pm AEDT on Friday, January 24, 2020.

Haven't seen it posted so thought I'd share. I think it's a great suggestion and would love it if the club and team consider this.

Thanks for that. Maybe on of the guys on here that chat online with Pascoe, such as @boonboon or another could send this on in case the club is unaware?

Tragic.

On the Blue Mountains front, Grose Valley fire is now virtually out and about to be relegated to patrol status, as is Ruined Castle.

Erskine Creek (north front of the Green Wattle Creek fire,) has had extensive containment lines put in front Wenty Falls through to Glenbrook and they believe they will hold well. 5mm of rain to fall up here tomorrow so hopefully that aids somewhat.
