First Grade Live Game Thread vs Dragons.

The team looked flat, a number of players looked disinterested, they need a massive rocket and Sheens needs to rethink the forwards selections particularly the run on pack, a few of whom are playing like they are an automatic selection and as such are not having a go and aren't providing any toughness and aggression around the ruck. The ball is very much in sheens court.

Your post has a certain deja vu ring to it, Cunno. Same crap, different year.

Crap… I've still gota wait an hour to watch it?!

Long night with no sleep coming up...

I know you've probably seen Tigers play bad games before but tonight seriously topples that list. There is nothing positive to take out of tonights game.

Save your hair

Disappointing lost. However, Humble, Reddy and Bell were very solid. Need to start Bell and leave Groat on the bench.

So it's alright for Benji Marshall and Beau Ryan to cop late hits and and the St George players not get penalised for them! But Adam Blair and Robbie Farah both get penalised and possibly facing suspensions when their tackles weren't as bad, when will there ever be consistency -_-

The pack will be a lot better off when Bell, BMM and Moors get more match fitness. The three have provided more effort and aggression than most of the pack to date.

It's the old story, the game hasn't changed that much, a team still needs a tough pack that is aggressive in defence causing the opposition to be gunshy when running the ball and aggressive in attack getting good go forward for the backs. I was worried when I saw Benji take the ball up in the first or second set of 6 instead of one of the forwards.

Well they are on auto select who else would you bring in Cunno forwards wise ??

Im sorry. I put this all squarely on sheens.

Time and time again, our team is never fired up. We have to rely on those players that have the ability to find it in themselves, like robbie and Ellis. Or we wait until we have to win every game to make the finals.

Sheens has to go soon.

Spot on Flippedy, after the big build up to the season etc etc the team doesn't seem to have progressed or changed much. Don't be surprised though, that again it will be like previous seasons and the WTs will gain form as the season progresses and people will be talking about them differently like previous seasons, well I can only hope.

Humble, Reddy and Bell are solid reserve graders they do nothing we need better

Would it be harsh to say we lacked pride or passion???

If I was sheens make them watch that game for the next week solid and show them how not to play….

Looking more like a paycheck team ! And not a football team !

Send blair back to melbourne i knew he wld be A waste of money only looked good because he was in a good team we get rid of a player that gives it all and loves our team for what an overrated short tempered loser what a joke marshall and farah need to stop competing with eachother and play as a team and in there roles ,moltzen needs to be at full back id rather humble at halfback cldnt do any worse, we will be the favourites for the spoon if we keep this up

I think we gotta drop this idea of a back on the bench only leaving one guy there is a waste . We need to play straight before as go sideways .whatever beau Ryan is on he needs to share it with everyone else he is playin out of his skin

What was the point of Meaney on the bench?

A genius move to waste a spot on the bench and it worked so well

Yes, since it has worked so well for us in the past, I guess Sheens thought he' do it again … and again and again and again :unamused:

What's that saying about the definition of stupidity? Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result or something.

We were crap - but so was the refereeing. We still lack mongrel to let the grubs bash us out of the game was really disappointing . Seem tho we have a hell of a lot of fairweather supporters - if you can't handle a loss piss off - a true supporter stands by their team thru thick and thin

Yep spot on. There are always going to be losses during the year, that's part of sport.

Tigers were bad tonight, no doubt about. Too many penalties against us, and a terrible completion rate.

But seriously, I can't believe people are saying "sack sheens", "sack this player or that player", "another year nothing changes" etc etc. You guys do realise that the tigers are the only team that finished in the top 4 the last 2 years? It's a long season, there are plenty more games to go.

2010 - Rd 16: St George-Illawarra 34 Wests Tigers 10

Got within one point of the Grand Final that year. Let's not write off the season after three rounds. We were poor tonight but the improvements that need to be made are not drastic.

Meaney has been 18th man about 20 times that I have seen and then he gets a spot on the bench but still doesn't get a run.

Happy, given Galloway is about a month away from playing, I'd start Bell for Groat mainly because I think he is fitter than BMM and has more experience. Sheens' idea of starting 2 young props needs a rest. Woods can play better than he has and Sheens needs to remind him of this. Hopefully Ellis will be OK for the Canberra game at least there is a longer turnaround, so he would come in for Fulton. I'd like to see BMM get more game time from the bench and I'd leave Groat on the bench. Sheens has to earn his money on this because it has ask much to do with preparation and attitude in terms of turning the form around, the same players are capable of a lot better but they aren't aiming up.
