First round of the finals

we can still finish 4th, just need some results to go our way, the key games are:

knights to beat warriors - rd 23
souths to beat cowboys - rd 24
storm to beat dragons - rd 24
broncos to beat knights - rd 24
warriors to beat dragons - rd 25
warriors to beat cowboys - rd 26

if we won the rest of our games it would leave the ladder from 4th to 8th looking like

tigers - 34
dragons - 33
warriors - 32
cowboys - 32
knights - 32

thats assuming the above teams win all their other games like they should.

Its a long shot but not impossible, just a pity we have to rely on other results to get there

This is why the Mcintyer system is a JOKE J.O…K..E JOKE! we can finish 7th and get to play at one of our homes against manly.. yet if we finish 6th we could go to Brisbane .. I think id prefer to finish 7th, where gonna have to win 4 games to get there anyway..

Storm are in the Grand Final no matter what, 2 home games =unbeatble at home GF..

and if we go to Brisbane we have all the Lockyer drivel to deal with

my question is.. if we finish 6th and win all the way through do we get on the Storm side of the draw?? we DONT want that either!!!

Your whinge has nothing to do with the macintyre system….its the NRL's home regional and state system of where top 4 home semi system is for certain teams....but dont let that stop you moaning

As Ink said, plus I don't believe Manly and St G have to play at the SFS. I understood they could choose either SFS or ANZ for their 'home' semi.

As to the original question. I think I'd prefer to play any of Saints, Cowboys or Brisbane. I'm also still hopeful we will finish 4th and play either the Dragons or Cowpats at the SFS.

blahblahblah

if you finish 6th or 7th and WIN it makes no difference the system is a JOKE.and it is the system. because 2nd should not be playing 7th at their home to big of a gap

So where should 2nd play 7th?
This should be good

blahblahblah

good point

Geez you can whinge can't you. If 2 vs 7 isn't at 2nd's home ground where should it be? 7th's home ground? 4th's home ground? Old Trafford? Yankee Stadium? The top teams get home games to reward them for their results throughout the season.

Back on topic, I guess I want the Cowboys first up, their starting to get the death wobbles and will fall out of the finals pretty quick. A week 1 win in the finals means a week 2 home game against a week 1 loser. Then again it looks like the Cowboys will fall out of the top 4 if the Dragons pick it up again. Problem is week 3 will probably be a trip to Melbourne or Brisbane.

Surprising noone has picked Brisbane That would be my second option after us finishing fourth and saints 5th

We all want them to play at home, or as close to it as possible

That's closest to my home Ink . But I will happily travel done south if I have to

If the Dragons beat the Warriors and the Dragons end up losing to the Storm and either Panthers or Roosters today and Warriors beat the Cowboys in the final round, we can still finish 4th

We could be in 4th spot as early as next week if a couple of results go our way, including the Dragons going down this arvo

Roosters def Dragons
Souths def Cowboys
Storm def Dragons
Panthers def Warriors
Tigers def Parra

I'm not holding my breath with this arvo's game, but the rest are certainly possible.

If the Dragons win this arvo and then those games come our way next week, we'll need the Warriors to beat the Dragons the following week?

I wanna play dragons at Anz for sure. But if we play Brisbane in brissy I'll be stoked cos I'll be there. I honestly don't fear anyone except the storm.

If we make it into the top 4 (which is becoming a possibility) where would our 1st semi be played. If manly use the SFS where would we play - Leichhardt :righton: !!!!! Probably not - ANZ?

It would be at the SFS, 100%, unless we run 3rd and Manly run 2nd (in which one would have to move), which is unlikely. No semis will be played in Sydney anywhere but Leichhardt or the SFS.

If we finish 4th, this will be the Friday Night game so there is no reason why we couldnt play it at the SFS, and Manly could easily play there on the Saturday…

Id rather finish in the top4 and get two bites at the cherry. Its a huge possibility if Wests keep winning.

I just went to NRL ladder predictor and I've got us playing the Cowboys at Dairy Farmers in the 4th-5th clash on the Friday night. Others matches I'm predicting will happen in the first week are:

1st-Storm vs 8th-Knights

2nd-Broncos vs 7th-Warriors

3rd-Sea Eagles vs 6th-Dragons
