For Tedesco, the match marks his first game since suffering a season ending knee injury in his NRL debut against Cronulla at Leichhardt Oval in round one last season.

New recruits in back-rower Bodene Thompson and centre Rory Brien will make their first appearance for Wests Tigers. Five-eighth Sean Meaney is the only other player in the Wests Tigers side with NRL experience.

Eight players from the 2012 Wests Tigers NYC premiership winning team will play their first senior game in David Nofoaluma, Asipeli Fine, Joel Luani, Mosese Fotuaika, Inno Inosesio, Soni Paasi, Sauaso Sue and Sitaleki Akauola.

Promising half Luke Brooks has been given an opportunity at half-back after impressing NRL Head Coach Mick Potter during pre-season training. Brooks is yet to play an NYC game after playing SG Ball for Balmain Tigers last season.

Tickets available: Bathurst Panthers Club reception, (02) 63 300 600, or available at the gate.
Cost: $10 per adult, $5 per concession, children under 16 free.
Gates open: 4pm
Academy Game kick-off: Western Academy v Far West: 5pm
Main game kick-off: 6.30pm

Can much be made from this team in terms of NRL considering this is supposed to be pimarily NYC/NSW Cup?
Does it mean we can rule out Tedesco/Thompson/Naiyaravoro from starting the season? Or is it still too early to tell?
 
To all the fanatics out there again, I admit it sometimes I'm dumb - the more i know the less I know.
Can someone please confirm to me that Luke Brooks cannot play first grade.
In other words, can he get the jump on Miller come round 1 in the NRL. Thank you. I just dont have that kind of information.

This all came about from the trial lineup above.

Not sure exactly what you mean, but Brooks is over 18 years old meaning he can play NRL if Potter wants him to.
 
Rory Brien is an interesting selction who appears to have signed from Parramatta without too much fanfare. Apparently he was one of a number of Parramatta players in their NRL squad who were recently sent to train with Wentworthville. Apparently the problem which these players have is that the training with Wenthworthville is only part time whereas with the NRL squad it is fulltime with exposure to elite training. Brien had been signed with Parramatta until the end of 2013 and played one NRL game for Parramatta in 2011 coming off the bench to play wing. He captained the Parramatta Toyota Cup team in 2011.

Yep, there is no rule saying he couldn't do that.
 
He could indeed.

Don't think it will happen but hell Lawry debuted while still at school so anything is possible.

Meaney will be fine at pivot and gives some experience which Brooks may need. He did very well against the Cowboys in a trial at pivot as well a year or two ago.

IF Moltzen gets the nod and considering the injury to Farrell Teddy could see some NYC time this season.

So much to be decided and really i am just glad NRL is coming back
 
No Joel Reddy? Seems like a notable reserve grade ommission.
Based off of that side one would imagine Moltzen will start the year at fullback. Hope Teddy has a blinder.

I thought they had a rule change when the Titans were toying with the idea of playing 16 year Jordan Rankin

Not 100% sure though

Pretty sure you don't have to be over 18 to play first grade. Miller is no certainty-hasn't played much in the top grade so if Potter thinks Brooks is the better option come round 1 then so be it. It is not like we are leaving Jonathan Thurston out of the team.
 
Yeah there is now a rule that you must be 18 to play 1st grade. Moga from Roosters was caught out by it a year or so ago.

Though not quite sure if you are required to actually be 18 or just turn 18 the year you debut.
 
I notice BMM isn't listed, might be a sign that he is about to take a more prominent role in the squad?
 
For those thinking of going to Bathurst for the trial at Carrington Park, it's pretty straight forward in finding, just be aware that the Bathurst 12 Hour is on at Mt Panorama this weekend as well so if your'e looking for accomodation get in now or contact the Bathurst Visitors Centre which is opposite Carrington Park, go to Bathurst Regional Council's website for info on the Visitors Centre.
How many Tiges fans are coming?, I know it's only the NSW Cup players but how often do we get a game like this in my home town!, not for a long time.
