Flat Earth. Question for free thinkers of the forum....

It doesn’t really matter what is real or not real, what is important is people’s sense of reality, what people believe to be real. We all know that sense of reality can be distorted by a persons emotional state. It’s not cool to put someone down because of an idea or perceived skewed logic. Play the ball.

I don't really think it's possible to have a really small government. Capitalism has so many failures that require government intervention.

It becomes more a grey area about how big you want the government to be.

I suppose my younger ideas about less government intervention just don't work in reality.

It's not just backlash from government employees. It's our health care, our education, our infrastructure, legal system etc.

At the same time I think you should never try and rely on the government.
Stay on topic please...@TrueTiger wants to know why he can see the moon.
My 2 year old nephew would also like to know....

While we have your well educated assesment jirskyre, I made this thread earlier and asked the question why we can see the moon when it is 400,000 km away,it must be absolutely huge,if you read my introductory post you will understand what I mean,,,,someone, put Flat Earth infront of my question when it was only an example and it has led to this garbage when all I wanted was a civil conversation to the original question....its not hard to have a conversation in a civil manner when many of us especially me arent familiar with astrology or the solar system...
You can see the moon from 400,000 km away because it is 3,500 km diameter. That is a reasonable question.

It also happens that the sun is 148 million km away and 1.4 million km diameter, which is approx the same distance/size ratio as the moon, which is why they have a similar apparent size in the sky (and why we can have total solar eclipses at this time in history).

All I said otherwise is that flat-Earthers are crazy, and if you aren't a FE, then no worries.

Only a flat earther would start a thread like this one

Youd think we'd have evidence of this ice wall around the edge that's keeping all the oceans from spilling over... Imagine an oil tanker losing direction & crashing thru.... Collaroy residents might not mind that

I hope there is gravity on the other side, as there cannot be much flat earth left at the bottom of that increasingly deep rabbit hole he has been vigorously digging into for two or so years.

Might get back to us on the view of the moon from there?
