Florimo interesting.

I have always thought Florimo would end up as a Hooker more than at Half if he was to make first grade. Though i will be the first to admit his performances this year at 7 have improved from a few games he played there last year.

totally agree, his game at half had come along on
leaps & bound….and if stays fit and keeps improving he will have this U20s team in the grand final again.

I love watching and betting on this team.....the last try , 14 seconds from the end of the 1st half, was pure class, by Mullaney prefect grubber......I just wish I would go home as soon as it ends , as I can go home straight away , instead of watching 1st grade, so I would go home a happy Man.....the last 3 games is proof of that

I think young Florimo could be a real smoky next season for a shot at 1/2..the kid can defend / tough/has the best kicking game iv'e seen for a long time /and throws a nice pass and has improved heaps this season .He rates a lot higher for me than Lui because he has a better overall package .Thoughts

I have seen a lot of Florimo's games. I can't see him as a better half than Lui. He has improved but for mine Lui, Moltzen and Arana would all be well ahead of him in the half back stakes.

Florimo may be best served as a utilty on the bench at NRL level in that he can play halves and hooker.

Young Flo has something that a lot of our players lack, toughness and aggression. When the going gets tough young Flo loves it and that`s something that will take him a long way. Moltzen and Lui are much classier players, but don`t play with near the same toughness or agression that Jay Florimo does.

Florimo is playing well. I dont think he would be out of too much depth at NRL Level, but only if he defends in the ruck. You cant leave these small guys isolated out wide. Big forwards work on isolating them and the truth shows…From a club perspective, Lui and Lazarus are way ahead of Jay. One isnt available and the other was treated like a dusch bag by Sheens and will be better re-finding his form in NSW Cup.

In closing, Jay Florimo is a perfect model image in the making of Scott Prince. And we havnt had a halfback since Scott left?????

Watto,,I normally agree with a lot of what you say….your posts are well structured and show a great knowlegde of the game.....

But please comparing the development of a young Jay Florimo to that of Scott Prince is loony tunes.... 😕

Besides Sheensy is the only true authority of comparing our cattle to the greats of the game.....

Nice first effort though.... 😱pen_mouth:

Throw him in later in the season if all is lost and see how he goes, but Lui is the best option we have atm and he is still raw as and unproven at NRL level he has only played a handfull of games. Who knows what Sheens is thinking anyway!

The reference was a comparison to Scott Prince in his early years. When Scott arrived at Red Hill, he had a good running and kicking game. Scott couldnt 'tackle' and didnt posses a 'reset'. He was always trying that 'special play' and pushed it too hard most times. After a few years working with Alf and the son-in-law, Scott was a better alround Halfback…

The rest was History...
