Folau and the Southport Tigers

Millionaire madman Clive Palmer doing a press conference to announce Folau is playing rugby league in Australia again at the Tigers... the Southport Tigers that is.

Boring story notwithstanding, how's the logo infringement? Not something I think the club would appreciate being accidentally identified with.

Isn't Folau in his early 30's? Hasn't played RL for over a decade. Not sure why he persists with this stuff?

Nrl is stupid to let him , hunt and all the others that left league.
They joined the competitors and actively promoted the games competitors in our stronghold areas and have cost the game money and juniors by the publicity they gave our competitors.
They can go back to AFL or union for all I care , the NRL has no obligations to them to give them a final payday when they are in their 30s and well passed their prime and don’t offer anything on the field

Isn't the Tigers logo some generic logo?

I've seen US high school football teams with our logo.

No I dont think so, I think those teams ripped it off us. I think its moderately commom for the thousands of US amateur sports teams to rip off logos from overseas clubs.

BTW this wasnt intended to be a commentary about Folau, it was meant to be a note about an amateur club using our logo and potentially getting WT mixed up in their nrws.

Honest mistake on my part. It does look like the product of a year 10 graphic design project...

Pretty sure there's dozens of clubs using our logo, and more abroad.

Personally i prefer the easts tigers logo to ours.

I think it's been used before
we used it

Well it's not like Clive worries too much about copyrights...
But I don't like that it seems our logo is a generic logo, surely we are big enough to create our own logo and have it exclusively!

Unbelievable that SBW and Wendall spent so much time in the other code but came back for one season and got nice media jobs. its a joke really rugby union would never give them those jobs but we seem to. Why? they left our game to make more money but get nice after career roles in the game they left. This really annoys me.

The Entrance Tigers on the Central Coast have the exact same logo also. I watched the 2005 GF at that club, it was the closest I could get to the Tigers on that night!
