He is free to express his opinions but when you're a professional athlete, you're a representation of that sport/team, so if you're touting offensive crap then whatever organisation you're with probably isn't going to appreciate it as it's a reflection on them. As a public figure that's just the way it is.. How anyone could be so self righteous and narcissistic that they think their opinion matters enough to preach to others is another thing though.

Employers have a right to not have an employee who generates negative press that reflects badly on their organisation. Why do you think COC exists. I went to a meeting a few months ago, a big chunk of it is devoted to how you conduct yourself on Social Media. No matter how many times that’s explained, it still doesn’t register with some.

You only have to look at the amount of debate it generates anytime his name is mentioned. Are you saying the ratio of debates is 90% people who don’t care about what says and 10% that are outraged? That’s pretty lopsided for a topic that causes so much argument.

It's hard to argue a point when someone is purposely misinterpreting your point. We know you've got skin in the gay pride camp...as I said, be as proud as you like about your sexual preferences...I don't care and 90% of people don't either.

Administrators try to protect against any negative press and it's only a very vocal minority that try to sabotage people on topics like this. Unfortunately, the administrators react to these people.
