I thought I best start a new thread because it involves a lot of people within the club...
Firstly I need to say that many on the forum always seem to want to ridicule me because I mention a lot of times that I have played the game and have been coached by rep level coaches...fair enough if it irks you ,but at least listen to what I have to say in regard to our great game and how things work from within so that we all have a much clearer observation to make so as to have a positive input to the topic in question..
Many on here wanted Madge gone a few weeks ago because THEY THE FANS werent getting the results THEY WANTED..its not that easy...Madge has to get all the players recruited and sort out who plays where and who is best credentialed for that position...
Daine Laurie was a great pick up and he WILL be our fullback for seasons to come,he is young and still learning,Tamou was purchased for his leadership, not his playing prowess because Madge has targetted young more volatile players for the position but need experience beside them while they learn...
Same goes for JTJ and to a degree BJ,their experience is undeniable when right,Madge has also made changes that most members questioned and said he has finally lost the plot,AD to centres,Mbye to 5/8 and JTJ to wing...but how is our team looking since the changes...we are on a winning run...unheard of last year and earlier this year...
When i say I played, and its a different game now,I was moved all over the backline until coach was happy in playing me at the time inside centre, later I was played at outside centre and then wing...my point is the coach determines what the best formula and winning combination is best for the team...we are now JUST STARTING to get the results we need albeit some more work needs to be done...
Having T.Sheens back in the fold and easing the work load off Madge so he can concentrate on delivering a competative and finals bound team is first and utmost, congratulations to the club for having the foresight to employ him again....

So that was a very convoluted and long winded way of saying you’re a fan of the Sheens signing?

Not really, but he should take the pressure off MADGE so he can concentrate on the NRL squad and put us into the finals race without the other duties..

Didnt Threaten,a very good friend of mine coached me and played for Australia,he passed away last year but I had many conversations with him how to improve my game and how hard it is to make it into NRL ..even though I never had the talent to make it I listened wholeheartedly because he played for our country and work very hard to help others achieve the best they can...it doesnt always go the way you want...

? Dude you’re not the only one on here to play at a reasonable level. There’s many on here , and some ex nrl / ARL/NSWRL depending on thier age .
In fact I have to agree with demps I can’t say I recall ever seeing you post before .
Also many of us were pro Madge/brooks /waiting it out .

You’re not alone in this respect . Also , when we make the 8 we can all say I told you so , but until then I personally am going to keep my humble pie to myself . I advise doing the same .

***Why would you want to check my resume*** ...I havent applied for anything, but to have a good conversation and help others

TT I have no problem with you or what you have had to say, but I'd add that if you start your post with words to the effect of .....Ive played the game and been coached by rep coaches so you might all want to listen to what I say.....I was expecting a response like Demps gave you.

Plenty of us have played the game, at all varying levels and we all have completely valid opinions regardless of what level we played. I would add that there are plenty here have not played the game but love the game and have watched and studied the game and their opinions are valid.

I sincerely don't care who you are - I generally read what you say and much of it makes sense.

However, if you open posts with statements about former play and coaches in an effort to gain credibility, it seems reasonable people might want to know more in order to establish if that credibility is warranted.

I read here for a bit of fun. I don't pretend to know much beyond being an avid observer and student of the game. Everyone gets an opinion whether they've played, coached, are old or young, male or female.

As long as you're a supporter you're OK with me (although the pedant in me hates some of the poor spelling and grammar 🙂 )

Who are you? Lol

Just someone who understands the pressure of being under the pump to perform...

This is why I think I will leave this forum, although there are many great contributors to this place and good people I have met through here, you have had so many chances and still get to post garbage untill you are banned again...I gave an honest appraisal of what it takes to play and coach NRL and you want to LOL...grow up...

I was hoping for a name so I could check your resume....

Must be a lonely night for a former NRL super star

***Why would you want to check my resume*** ...I havent applied for anything, but to have a good conversation and help others

TT I have no problem with you or what you have had to say, but I'd add that if you start your post with words to the effect of .....Ive played the game and been coached by rep coaches so you might all want to listen to what I say.....I was expecting a response like Demps gave you.

Plenty of us have played the game, at all varying levels and we all have completely valid opinions regardless of what level we played. I would add that there are plenty here have not played the game but love the game and have watched and studied the game and their opinions are valid.

Some of the best coaches never played first grade. Or very little in a lot of cases. Trent Robinson for example. What level you played is irrelevant

That's funny because, I thought I best start a new thread because it involves a lot of people within the club…

Firstly I need to say that many on the forum always seem to want to ridicule me because I mention a lot of times that I have played **EVERY SINGLE RUGBY LEAGUE LIVE GAME ON PS3 AND PS4** and have **watched rep level coaches on TV…**fair enough if it irks you ,but at least listen to what I have to say in regard to our great game and how things work from within so that we all have a much clearer observation from our lounge rooms.

Just to clarify mate and I greatly appreciate your honesty with me,I just wanted to point out that most wanted Madge gone asap after our start to the season....I merely tried to say it isnt an overnight fix...when you play at what ever level, you are suseptable to being moved as Mbye has and now it seems he is doing well...this all contributes to Madge having to sort out nwe young recruits and older experienced recruits, its not easy and I wanted to shed light on why it has taken so much time and energy to start getting results ...sorry if I offended anyone ,,

Mate, you have offended me deeply.

We as fans have an expectation.
Madge has not been as successful as we want.
Sure it takes time but look at Nathan Brown, he had time at the knights and delivered 3 consecutive spoons.
We do not want to be in that position.

This sparks discussion which is what a forum is for.
Majority of the users chose NOT to sack Madge.

Mbye has playing well after some time of mediocrity and has been praised for his efforts over the past two weeks.

This is a place for discussion.
This is how it works.

Anyway you've cracked me up tonight with this thread mate.
Hilarious!!

I'm a legend and I got coached by rep coaches and you should listen to me...

Let's enjoy the win this weekend lads.
Another challenge next week.

I think it is good to know when forum members have experience that gives them some credibility and I am interested in the view of someone who has played competitively.

Yeah I couldn't agree more, he is a great guy. In regards to what people are saying about him mentioning his playing career I think his points are valid regardless of anything else.
