FOR GOD SAKE GET US A 1/2 BACK!!!

Excuse my ignorance - but are Moses and Brooks _that_ good?

I know they have a lot of potential, but Miller's performances has made me question the faith we place in our youngsters.

Brooks is highly rated by the current no9 so he is half way their

Interesting evaluations people make… Brookes could be , might be ect ect ,Moses seems playing with under 20' s is hurt a lot of the time, if this club signed DCE you would not get the smile of my face for 6 months what that guy did on Monday night defensively was amazing .Maybe Brooke's , Moses will make the grade but expieriance tells me that could be a long shot!

Yep, I remember not all that long ago when everyone was wanting Moltzen to be promoted into first grade because he had such great potential - now most would rather see the back of him! lol Mullaney was another one because he was absolutely killing it in the lower grades. Last year it was Miller and Koro, now it's Brooks and Moses. In reality, the only young player who has successfully transitioned into first grade and is now realising his potential, in the past few years, is Woods. I would be all for WT signing a good experienced half like DCE now because there are no guarantees with our juniors - potential and $4 will get you a cup of coffee, but that's about it.

We could sign the best player and he would turn out to be a real dud.
Chris Sandow for example, from highs to lows. Very soon people will say it was the worst signing for Parra( if they already dont)

Form and Confidence play a massive part in a blokes like. Can lead to stardom or dumps.. Benji, a perfect example here. My point is unless the other 16 players pull their weight it will make anyone look ordinary.
Younger blokes will come through the ranks and step up when ready, in the meantime with Anasta there we should have some stability return if halves remain uninjured.

Why do we need a halfback if we have Anasta for the short term? Anasta will leave us in 2015 and Benji will leave us in 2016\. Brooks will come into the side in 2015.

2015:

6\. Marshall
7\. Brooks

2016:

6\. Moses
7\. Brooks

Bloody simple.

Sure hope its earlier than 2015 that we see Brooks, but we'll see

I couldn't possibly watch a poor bloke sign up with us. We will have to be offering overs to get guys here.

Brooks is highly rated by a large number of people. The person I have heard give him the biggest wraps is Andrew Johns (you would think he knows young half backs). Have also heard Benji and Robbie give him praise. If he develops and remains injury free he could be very good. Having watched a bit of him I like the way he steers a side around the ground and his long kicking game. I think Brooks could develop into an elite NRL 7.

The more I see of Moses the more I like him. He is unpredictable and has a lot of skill. Seems to be a bit injury prone but hopefully he can get over that. He is another that should develop into a very good NRL player.

The best thing is that they already have a great combination you can see it straight away when they play together. I really hope the club keeps both players long term.

So instead of developing a highly rated junior halfback into first grade you want to potentially lose him and spend 500k a year (money we dont have) on DCE or another halfback?

If we lost Brookes because of that then god help us.

I think all you can say is that they are both promising. Brooks is probably a little further ahead at this stage, but the league is full of young halves who never quite make it or turn into the superstar everyone hopes for.

I think it is good Brooks is running around in the NSW Cup to gain experience before being thrown into first grade. The jump from the 20s to firsts is just too great.

For the time being, we should settle on the Marshall/Siro combo and give the team some stability.

If Brooks proves himself in the NSW Cup there are bound to be opportunities as the year goes on (through injuries etc) to maybe blood him in first grade for a few games.
