How old are you?
& who were the gun players that stood out when you first started getting into rugby league?

I remember early 2000s, the roosters & panthers were pretty gun…
Rhys Wesser was a gun fullback, loved watching him play

I had the 03 release NRL game on ps2 and Brisbane, Roosters & Panthers had the gun teams.

Always been a tigers fan tho.

Im 17, 18 in 3 months

Bulldogs have been a pretty solid side for as long as i can remember, also Melbourne and Manly.

I remember the 2006 grand final clear as day, was great game.

Growing up Petro was a solid forward, Benji and Farah.

Darren Lockyer was amazing, still remember the time he got the ball off a scrum about 20m out and got past our side to score.
 
Us under 30's guys missed the Clive Churchill, Sterlo eras, etc…

Got to see a bit of Johns & Fittler shine though.

Greg Slippery McCarthy , Harry Cameron , Greg Oliphant ,John Ribot ,Wayne Carr ,Gary Prickett and the Williamson brothers

I also liked Wayne Lindenberg but he had shocking taste in footy teams , fortunately for him his niece married into the Happy family (for a while )
 
I'm 22 and agree with you on Rhys wesser. Remember in that first NRL video game I think he was rated like 10 speed 10 agility and was unstoppable lol. I didn't follow a team until 03 Tigers when Mark oniell, Darren senter, Ben galea, John Skandalis came to Wagga Wagga for a junior skills day and they signed a heap of my gear. Before then I used to love watching Timana tahu and Matt Gidley for new castle. Also Luke Rooney or someone Rooney used to be one of my favourites for some reason
 
I am 29… woo I am still young apparently.

I've been into league for as long as I can remember. My favourite player when I was a kid was Tim Brasher, also was a big fan of Jacin Sinclair.

My Dad is a Broncos supporter so I always remember growing up supporting a team that got flogged on the regular and my Dad supported a team of champions. Broncos and the Raiders were the perennial winners in the early days. Those champion teams with the likes of Langer, Gee, Renouf, Walters, Carne etc. and the Raiders with Stuart, Daley, Nadruku, Meninga, Clyde etc.

I remember when I was really really young I had a Canberra Raiders sloppy Joe that my Grandad bought for me on a trip to Newcastle... gee that is an old memory. I must have been 3 years old. I expect that I liked the Raiders because of their cool colours and milk sponsorship as a little kid but swapped because I felt sorry for the Tigers after the way they lost the 1989 Grand Final but I don't quite recall exactly why I started supporting the Tigers and I might have just had a Raiders jumper because I just did.

Also as a tantrum chucking 9 year old I decided I didn't support the Tigers anymore after I got sick of them being awful and decided I supported the Bulldogs instead. I must have been serious about it for a while too because I remember watching a finals match in 1995 against Parramatta where the Eels got out to a huge lead against the Dogs and I was balling my eyes out and they somehow came back and won and I was elated. I have no idea how or why that happened because I cannot stand the Dogs now. Not even one of the teams I have a soft spot for. One of my least favourite teams. The Dogs won the comp that year and I couldn't kid myself anymore afterwards I guess and just quietly went back to supporting Balmain.

Hahahaha I remember crying after our semi final games against Roosters, Warriors and Dragons.
 
I remember in my later teens, I was a huge fan of sonny bill williams (bulldogs) -
moreso as an athlete than a footballer.
i was super into fitness and bodybuilding at the time, read somewhere he had the biggest biceps ever in the NRL.
he was like my #goals when i'd be in the gym.

not as heay into the gym nowadays but still throw some heavys around from time to time.

Wow, i'm the same age as you, 29 and went through the exact same phase of switching to the Dogs for a while at the exact same age. Only difference was i switched from the Magpies. I remember being devastated over the 94 GF when they were beaten by the Raiders. Like you, i have no idea how it happened. The only thing i can think of is that i use to watch a video tape of a Dogs/Parra game, and the Dogs won 42-8 or something like that, and maybe watching them win over and over struck a chord with me. Either way i was back supporting the Magpies by about 96\. That's a bit freaky.

22 currently, WTF helps me feel young.

got into the tigers in 2005 when i moved to australia

early memories include chris lawrence vs broncos and storm. biggest man crush since.

i saw brett hodgson's farewell game against the titans and even though i've never seen him play, he would remind me of myself since i was very skinny and had massive respect for him esp since he had played a game or two of origin

then came taniela the tank tuiaki.

there were just so many broncos games on tv that you can't help but admire darren lockyer.

anyone remember tim smith? sandow and him were a big craze back then.
