Didnt sit down and waste my time watching the full game thank god. But according to stats our forwards got dominated.

And to think Packer and Matulino were meant to be enforcers, we got better value out of Woods

Twal is easily our best prop.
Rowdy is all heart and the rest of em are frauds.

Rowdy is a true tiger.. Deserves nothing but the best. All. Praise is due.

We were well on top when Mats was interchanged.

I watched Mats closely today…he is deadset lazier than our worst signing Adam Blair

Packer was the reason we got on the front foot early but his 2nd stint was quiet, as was most of ours forwards apart from Rowdy

Our front row was solid for the first stint between them ran for 100+ metres and made 35 odd tackles. We led 12-4\. The game was gone when they got back on.

Our forward pack needs bolstering big time. Packer, Mats, Lawrence, ET, Twal are very good but not great players. The drop off is huge to Eiso, Rochow, Aloai, MCK etc. ET has been bad this year but playing 9 looks like it’s killing his will to live.

Biggest issue we have is the 9 our forwards are being hit at the line due to slow service and Brooks has to be Tubby Taylor to pick the ball up off his laces every time.

No excuse for the disgraceful defensive display but Liddle has to play and stay at 9 for 80 if fit. Farah would be smart but Souths dumb if they release him as they could win a premiership.

You, like myself am entitled to an opinion, but need your eyes checked.

The initial paragraph of Tyga above says it all.

I was at the game. I watched them both closely

4 runs for a first grade prop is piss poor. RCG will make 4 runs in 5-10 mins

Packer went looking for hit-ups every set, whereas I think it took the 3rd set of the game for Mats to finally have a run. Whether he's being coached that way I have no idea but we need more from our 2 enforcers. Packer impressive in his 1st stint, quiet in his 2nd. Mats quiet in both

Blair wasn't our worst signing, far from it.
He played more minutes for us than these forwards, made more metres and tackles. He'd be an asset for us now compared to this bunch.
You want the worst signing, McQueen must be a contender.
Origin and grand finals at previous clubs, stuck in reserve grade behind our non performing NRL pack.

Our front row was very effective early. Went to crap after 25-30 minute mark.
So….. Woods still a bad option?

I was out at Belmore yesterday Woods is a shadow of his former self. He looks and plays like a prop version of Tui. I feel sorry for him he is terrible.

We need to get a bulldozing prop/lock like Pangai Jr, Tukiahou that can get high output and impact. It would allow our props to play their natural game which is based on defence and fewer strong carries and quick play the balls.

Mats and Packer bed to demand the ball more and make more effort with their runs.

I thought Packer started great today and was far more domininant than Matulino, but we dont get enough from either of them.
They were so talked up as being far superior to what we had and quite frankly they, are not.
I think they are trying but we are still short of dominant forwards with or without Packer and Matulino, and we still have three more years of them.

I didn't fully watch the second half and don't want to watch it.

Can anyone tell me the likely diagnoses on lawrence or what happened to him.

Taken out by friendly fire when he collected Packer's hip making a tackle out for the count..if we were playing next week I would say no chance as he has had a few concussions this year but should be right in a fortnight..walked off under his own steam..

Agree about Woods yesterday. Given the circumstances the sooner he is out of there the better- and if doesnt happen not sure how he will find form. The uncertainty must be playing heavily, and it shows.
On our two both have a pass mark - but just.
Very concerned that if this is the best they can offer then we have made a bad investment - taking into account that a specialist DH will provide scope for all our forwards to benefit from better service.

Definitely need to be playing longer minutes. What the hell is wrong with them that they can't? They've been playing in the NRL for years and can still only manage half a game each. It's not good enough in the modern game.
