why 8 at cambo ? nowhere near our leagues clubs or COE and makes no sense. We may aswell train at parramatta and play at kogarah oval ...
Bit like playing certain teams at certain grounds... You do know sometimes we play some once, some twice... Impossible contractually
There's no right answer... With this topic everyone has a different pov, dozens of options... and it shows why the clubs done nothing for 20 years trying to appease all
Big assumption ink that the club is trying to appease fans. It’s my understanding (with distantly “inside” info) that the current set up is best financially for the club. Bigger draw opposition at stadiums, smaller at LO & cambo. Break even is $ 10k at those suburban grounds
I've heard it is much higher than 10k and on a lot of occasions the club loses money playing there.
It used to be at LO but council has come to the party with ground hire. We don’t lose $ at LO, council are actively helping. WT don’t make much though around 10k
The deal with ANZ, that I assume moved to Bankwest, had in excess of $125,000 guarantee per game.
Its less than $125K and it is not profit, its minimum revenue and costs come out of that. There is a break even point and it suits the club to have low drawing opposition at LO or CS.
The operational cost are supposed to be around 15-20k for ANZ, though that is about 5 years old but can't see it being much more than that.
I have some inside info on this, but unlike others I dont claim to have the full story. I know for a fact that the Tigers AND the stadium lose money on low crowds and it is not in either interest to have these games at ANZ/Bankwest. I know both the club & ANZ want low crowds at LO/CS.
$15-20K seems ridiculously low. I run a business and it is hard to employ a contractor (single person) on a weekend for $1K. There would be more than 20 security guards at ANZ on match day. No way you could run a match day for $ 15K cost. YOu couldnt emply 20-30 people for that.
YOu have to ask yourself why the stadia want the Tigers there? They still charge a fee. ANZ still make money out of us being there.
Im telling you, from like 2 degrees of separation, ANZ/Bankwest works for the club and the stadia, but not for all games.
Yes but you always want evidence and don't like to trust hearsay in these sorts of conversations, I am at least going off articles written during the timeframe of our current deal with Venues NSW. You are using some distant inside info?

My info isnt that distant, its an ex board member. That article (only read the first one) is wrong in most part and a lot of guess work. It costs $65K at Leichhardt but only $10K for ANZ? How many humans do you think you can employ, as a contractor, on a Sunday, including insurances, Super, GST etc for $10K. In my experience, thats between 15-20people. Good luck managing a 20-50K crowd with 20 people. Its just rubbish and you dont need "proof" to show that, you just need common sense and to use your own brain.
I am not claiming to have knowledge of exact figures, but I do have knowledge that it is not in either the club or the Stadiums interest to have small crowds at ANZ/Bankwest, they BOTH want them at LO & Cambo.
I have zero knowledge of the situation at Cambo but being in competition with LO, I assume it is parallel. Inner West Council have drastically reduced their ground fees to the Tigers and are actively reducing their costs in order to maintain WT as tenants.
Things like hiring a screen etc at CSS and LO significantly add to the costs of using the grounds.
I will however trust your judgement as you are a poster I do respect the opinion of even when I disagree with you. If you say you know someone I believe you know someone so will take what you said.
