Both Cambo and Lo need lots and lots of money thrown at them if they are going to meet the demands of today. I would probably go with Cambo if they could deliver a Bankwest standard stadium, but I get the feeling the funds that trickle down will amount to a upgrade of the toilet block and that’s not good enough.

If Campbelltown was to get a new stadium, and the Tigers threaten to play the majority of their home games there, it might put a bomb under Darcy Byrne and his Green council to pull their finger out to upgrade LO.

There's only so much you can do for LO though. Aside from ripping down the main grandstand and rebuilding, you won't be able to increase ground capacity and you couldn't develop on the hill, I don't think anyone would allow or want that.

You know one thing I would like to see at Leichhardt, is at the northern end of the field putting in one of those portable stands that they used to have at Campbelltown back in the magpies days.

They were fun and would increase capacity and provide another really good angle to watch the game.

It's a shame ANZ won't get the rectangular retrofit - I would've much preferred this compared to the unnecessary new stadium at Moore park. But upgrading or building new suburban stadiums - I am all for this proposal!

The club needs to advise there membership base if they are planning to walk away from there inner west/ western/ north western Sydney areas and make Campbelltown there home ground ..that’s not an issue but there is a need to know .. you can not ask for memberships to be pledged and not be transparent ..
The sooner the better !

I cannot envisage money being available when there are more pressing priorities elsewhere. The suburban grounds already exist. If they warrant a makeover this can be achieved with a much smaller outlay.

What do you mean by walk away..?

The COE for Wests Tigers is being built in Concord...that wont change...

Where they play if it were to be 1 Ground..Campbelltown, Bankwest, ANZ, Leichhardt or Timbucktoo will be a while off should even these upgrades get done..

Also most Clubs have various home grounds and all take home games to various other places in a season...

Why does playing at different grounds for home games divide the supporter base as you claim..?

if the club plans on playing out of campbo full time then let us know i wont travel out there for every game as too far so probably wont keep a membership

I'm not sure about dividing the supporter base but we've used 5 grounds as our Sydney home ground now. Dont you think that is ridiculous?

So, will there be any games played at ANZ next year and the years following? Or will ANZ be left to rot? What a waste of money.

The plan is to use it in the way it should be used, as an event stadium only. SOO and Grand Finals and maybe some big event games.

If they are fair dinkem then they should knock down the existing grandstand (not an icon), build a new one (corporate friendly) and wrap it around the northern end to the far corner - leave the hill, move the scoreboard to up near the big screen.

That would increase the capacity to 25,000 - New stand to be called Keith Barnes Stand - chuck Latchem Robinson in the bin and call the existing KB stand anything you like. End of rave.

Its a pity the mayor only wants a lick of paint and a new letterbox. He's a fake.

With the NRL pushing this agenda and wanting Campbelltown as one of the grounds to be re built you would think that they would want at least 1 NRL club playing there fulltime. There is no way they are going to push for a new stadium and then be happy with only 3 games a year being played there. I personally think they are going in hard knowing full well it won't happen and will then negotiate for upgrades rather than re builds.

Thats a good argument for playing at the stadiums. But we lose money getting 10k at the suburbans, which we regularly do.

building campbo is good idea as will get use from tigers and soccer also maybe club rugby ?
Seems strange to move permanently given centre of excellence at concord but maybe play one or two inter state teams at LO

The suggestion is move to 1 Stadium.. said that ..being BankWest, ANZ, or a redeveloped Campbelltown or Leichhardt..the Suburbans won't be as they are if they are redeveloped..seems the issue is now is that the One could be Campbelltown we have already have questioning of renewals of memberships if that ends up being the case...

I don't see a problem playing at ANZ BankWest WestsSFS or Timbucktoo in one season..if it brings in revenue for just playing there..

This is a long way off anyway..

To and from our home at Woolooware means driving, walking or running past Sharks. The taxpayer money spent on that ground to improve its facilities has been substantial. I wonder what the formula is for successful funding?

Homebush makes the most sense being close to centre of excellence plus they will pay us to play there
Otherwise it is 45km away to play home games at Cambo which makes no sense
Concord to Homebush 5km
Concord to Leichhardt Oval 6km
