You'd think he'd have the op now rather than wait until say September.

Manly wouldn't allow it ….. Even if he was sitting on the sideline for the rest of the season.
Go to Hassler fitting fit, I don't think so

Thompson plays for the Titans, I think that's who Yoss was talking about?

Yeah he's the one with the bung shoulder who we've signed. Don't really care what Manly think about it.

Eddy was heaps good tonight, you's gotta get that out of him consistently though.

What happened to all the talk awhile back of Beau Ryan re-signing for 3 yrs? obviously he hasn't otherwise they would have announced it ages ago, or at least in this press release

He announced it on the Footy Show about a month ago unless he was trying to preempt something

Maybe the club thought that it was enough ??

I can't recall anytime where a club has let a player do the announcing without releasing something official themselves. And especially on a show like the footy show that 20 people watch.Wouldn't be very professional. But who knows with this club. Its the same media manager that releases the team sheet at almost 6 o'clock every tuesday night

Wests Tigers were keen to lure Thompson south after he migrated to Australia as a 16-year-old but he didn't want to leave the Gold Coast because of his sick "brother".

Lawrence Dane Rawiri, a former Keebra Park student, died from a brain tumour in 2007 while Thompson was forging an NRL career.

Thompson admitted staying with "Lawry" during his final years was a factor in him initially choosing the Titans over Wests Tigers but he will head there next year to build on his 49 NRL appearances.

"That (Lawry) was a big thing. I wouldn't have wanted to go anywhere while he was sick," he said.

"I had the (Wests Tigers) offer there (in 2007) but I'm a family man and like to be around my family.

"We had only just moved over so I didn't want to shoot off somewhere else as soon as we got here."

So we tried to sign him in 2007 and his also out for rest of season

Settle down guys, I certainly don't want Fulton to go either, just saying he might, that's all. With all these new forwards coming in, there's bound to be some movement happening that we're not yet aware of. We can't fit them all in the team.

I think we can keep all our current squad for next year. With a cap increase on the cards, there's room. Good recruiting by the club also, by snapping up players before the increase happens.

That's not how it works. Current players(the ones with smart managers) have clauses built into their current contracts to receive a percentage increase if the cap rises. Can't keep all the players.

There is no such thing as smart managers, more like money hungry. Mate I understand this, but what I'm saying is most of our off contract player aren't the type of players in big demand or going to be up for big dollars. They won't be forcing our hand for more money and at the same time will want to stay simply to enjoy the ride, most are close to retiring. Most will be on reduced contracts, regardless of the cap increase. The ones we let go will be just to freshen the roster up with new signings and promoted juniors.
I think this is how it does work.
