No it wasn’t.
What was needed was a unified stance that Lachlan cannot sign anywhere else for 6 months and as such he is still a Tiger. We will be using him to make the finals this year. There is no bullying, he is not being punished.
His crew are playing for an early exit. Benji needed to shut that down. He did do that to a point but also went off course a bit.

The off course bit was when the media had stopped asking about the Tigers and the players / bullying acceptance and started to ask Marshall questions about Lachie and his managements motives. All to the point does he think, well he doesn’t think and doesn’t know. He brought it back to Lachies well being and the playing group and finished it there I thought.

Saddest point in the press conference today was when Benji made reference to the talk that “he can’t coach”…he sounded defeated at that comment

Disappointed but not defeated imo TY. Good motivation to prove the doubters wrong.
I think he’s growing into the role, still a way to go but definitely growing !

To me it looked like a young coach explaining what occurred rather than a professional leader closing an exit option for his best prospect leaving 18 months early.

It would have been worse if Benji didn't take the personal and empathetic approach he did, imo. It has kept the vultures away and negated any chance of a release under bullying etc by the RLPA.

Chammas is still coming out with articles saying the tigers players don't like Galvin. That's a bit harder to swallow after the footage we saw of him cuddling with Turuva etc.

Benji also did say that Galvin is here till end of 2026...

Young dudes get over this stuff real quick. It’s why they can have a dust up at training or a night out and be sweet the next day / hug it out.
What is hardest for them to accept is if they believe someone thinks they’re too good to be there, or is only out for themselves. You reckon Parra guys weren’t a bit off Matterson for copping a suspension instead of a fine? You reckon Dragons players weren’t looking a bit sideways at Ben Hunt when it was clear he wanted out, didn’t want to be there because the team around him wasn’t good enough?

The thing that annoys me the most about some of these player agents is that they never seem to come out to support the players who are their cash cows, they're just happy to take their 6 or 7 %, light a few fires then go and hide.

Obviously there would be some good ones, but gee the scumbag ones really give the rest a bad name.

I know on the surface it would appear that is where he is going, but everyone thought Stef was going to the Dogs too and that's not what happened.
I guess the real question is does Gal really want to develop, because utility at the Dogs looks pretty attractive at the moment compared to 5/8 at the Eels.
