Does anyone know what the **minimum** cost for Foxtel to get just NRL.
Not fussed about any other channel because I have unlimited broadband and Netflix.
Cheers guys.

I asked Foxtel this exact question a few days ago. They said you can't have just sports channels, you have to have "essentials" package which is roughly $40 per month. And the sports channels are roughly $20 extra on top of that (those channels include all of the golf televised). I get ESPN sport as well for the UFC and NFL and that is roughly another $20 again. I pay $80 per month, will be contacting them again to inform them if they can't get the price lower than that then I'll unsubscribe.
So to answer your question the minimum would be $60 a month thereabouts.

Thanks mate that's what it used to be like so I switched to kayo and for personal reason i want to go back to foxtel.
I am so agitated by foxtel by the way they structure their channels. The only way they would change to a pay as you go set-up [select only the channels you want] is by the whole nation to protest and stop subscribing, that would sort them out hey.

Im on $61/ month deal and this includes IQ HD box, essentials, sport, Entertainment pack, movies including 6 free New releases from store and multi screen ….. which allows sharing between 5 devices.
You have to haggle with these people.

I think Kayo would be your best bet if you’re just getting Fox for the NRL channel? (Someone correct me if I’m wrong).

$25/month as someone said above.

Thanks kingrobbie, Ive tried it and rather go back to Foxtel but dont want heaps of channels I dont want. Also want golf. Ill look ut up online, cheers bud.

If you’re a Telstra customer it’s $15.

Used to pay $109 for 2 x HD IQ4 boxes with everything but they jacked it up to $136 with this virus as many subscribed.

Waiting for the end of my contract to try and renegotiate.

Miss those 96 days with Optus at $30 a month x 2 boxes lol.

Switch your energy provider to Alinta for a years free Kayo...

I used to get a gauge on my teams hopes during trials but that Manly trial last year shattered my illusions.

Ordinarily, those trials should tell us a few things especially considering I expect Easts to be really focused from dot this year. The attitude change from Sheens arrival if any will be something to look for. Let's hope they play with an inspired edge.

With this in mind I hope our season isn't over in February

For sure, they just make their prices up as they go. Very rarely (if ever) do they voluntarily give their long-term subscribers one skerrick of an offer of a discount etc.

yeah ill be doing that agin too this year

Does live sport on Kayo drop out much during the telecast? That is the only thing that concerns me about switching from Foxtel. I guess that depends on your location too if it's satellite?

Depends on your internet connection. I had to cast from my phone but have an app on the smart TV and rarely have troubles now

Was getting my pay via Optus till about 2 years ago when it was no longer offered (With Rudd's nbn).

Since getting Foxtel' s satellite dish picture quality is marginally degraded versus cable and with cable can't recall a drop out since 96 whereas getting loads of weather related drop outs now. I suppose it will happen during game time. The other thing to consider is the lower likelihood of heavy storm activity during winter in Sydney at least decreasing the chances of dropouts during games.

Progress isn't always better. My internet is slower too with nbn.

Same here.... Occasionally poor picture quality in bad weather but that's the same for FTA where we are too... It's not often.
