From bad to worse who's running the show

What is do special about Moses that another proven 1st grade 5/8 (Austin) must be released for him?

If we had signed Gavet Thompson Blair and Austin we would have been thinking great name signings.

I was an Austin fan but he was hardly a "proven 1st grade 5/8"…..

Gavet has played 13 1st grade games and was hardly superstar material. Blair, yes has played well in the past few months but his time with us lacked effort. Less experienced players put him to shame.

Thompson will be a loss.

Yeah the off field changes were all about making sure the Wests group didn't take majority control so called ideas new management will improve things were just a smokescreen.

Re Austin and Moses do people here believe Moses a better player now? And we need better players now not potential.

Yes I think Moses is a better player than Austin,Austin has energy, but no idea how to set up his outside backs, his kicking game is not flash,Moses has him covered on both fronts, and is going to get better.
Austin may be slightly ahead on defence, but if I had to choose now,it is a no brainer to me,Ricky will find this out though.

Austen had bugger all quality backs to set up. Most of the time he had to do it himself because the players outside him were out of position or a fifty fifty chance to drop the pill!!!

Agreed long term Moses looks like being a special player, but we needed Austen in the team for the next year at least while Moses makes the transition from schoolboy super star into, fingers crossed NRL super star

We wanted to keep him. He did not want to stay. Not the Weststigers fault. Get over it.

As I have stated in another forum heading, I thought that 3/4 of the people on this forum would have been glad to see the back of Blair. They have done nothing but rubbish him since he arrived from Melbourne. But, no. As soon as he leaves they are up in arms that management is to blame etc. etc.

No one knows for sure, but I am willing to bet that the Broncos offered him a huge salary increase and that Blair asked to be released. Once again not the Wt's fault.

If Taylor had said no and Blair played like crap next year these same people would have been screaming bloody murder. Go figure.

Like even this example annoys me

Gerard Beale has just signed with the Sharks

Gerard Beale is better than any centre we have around , yet he goes to Cronulla

If we don't sign anyone before the 2015 season starts , it proves to me that players don't want to come to the WT's period

And it also means that all of the off field changes could mean absolutely nothing

In less than a fortnight, last season's wooden spooners, a club that has spent the best part of 2 years undergoing major turmoil, has found a way to entice Ben Barba, Gerard Beale and Kyle Stanley over to Peptide Stadium. Perhaps WT management should take some lessons from them in how to close a deal.

I think you could tempt a rabbit into a lions den with a carrot.

If they have the cash (how I have no idea) and they are willing to pay big wages, most players would go.

Donny if the financial situation is as bad as I think it is the club won't exist in 2017\. Not in Sydney but possibly in Perth.

And their building themselves up to make a massive play for DCE. A report today said it would be the biggest contract in history. Take that last bit with a grain of salt, but the fact they could even be entertaining signing DCE after the position they've been in the last couple yrs is nothing short of a miracle.

What coach of a side has ever come out and announced they won't be making any signings for 2 yrs, no less an incoming coach.

Two things from me.

Austin did not want to be here because he wanted to play 5/8.
Well, it just so happened that he had Moses in front of him, a player that would buy and sell him 10 times over, even when he was at school.
What Austin needs to realise is - he is not a 5/8.

You see 5/8's pass the ball - if they don't we have 5 backs too many in attack. He is a hog who makes the occasional break, nothing more and nothing less. Kicking game is almost non existent and would be lucky to tackle his way out of a paper bag.

There are a lot of people who are wearing rose coloured glasses when it comes to Austin - Yes he scored a couple of tries but I lost count of how many overlaps went begging because he hung onto the ball and how many tackles he missed. For mine he won't be missed any less than the tackles he didn't make.

Second point - Baba and Stanley - not as good as we have.
Beale - not as good as Teddy - maybe as a centre but for the money I'm sure we can do better for 2016\. Let the Tigersharks have them.

Good to see you back and giving us more of your wisdom, magpiecol. How much more than the $550K a year that Blair was reportedly earning at WT do you think the Broncos paid for him?

And, as I should have stated in another forum heading …you're posting rubbish...as always.

The club has stated their intentions for the coming three years. As far as I can ascertain the club are abiding by those instructions. Everyone employed by our club is now accountable for their actions or lack thereof. We are on our way to becoming a gun organization and hard decisions have and will continue to be made by those appointed to make those decisions.

we've lost 3 average players, and suddenly our top side (which beat THREE of the top 4 sides in the finals comprehensively) is going to get smashed every week? cant see it sorry.

not to mention moses, brooks, sirro, teddy and simona all relishing in the experience 2014 has given them.

injuries will decide whether we make the 8, just like almost every other team.

As above - WHY THE HELL NOT?

Our current roster is not top 4 so the new plan is to spend two years kicking around the bottom of the table?

Even the peptide kings in the shire have attracted players this year and supposedly are after DCE

ME NO UNDERSTAND…....

who the hell has come out and said our aim is bottom 4 in 2015???? we are aiming for the top 8, and like 2014 we will get there with a nice run of injuries or lack thereof.

I admire your optimism pH but the reality is far different. We just don't have the players or the depth

Anasta ,Fulton ,Blair ,Thompson Paterson , Austin, Gavet , Mr T , Farlow , Koroibete

We probably lost more experience than we kept

Time to buy a second hand punching bag I reckon

Take a pill hey

The problem pH is games we are expected to win we lose and games they give us no hope usually win (top Sides) , Can't see a Top 8 finish for us in 2015 , very small side with not enough experience . IMO
