North Melbourne president James Brayshaw says the AFL club is hopeful of securing a deal as soon as next week to play two home matches in Hobart each season.
>
Brayshaw said if the three-year deal was finalised, the Kangaroos would start playing matches at Bellerive Oval next season and stood to make about $600,000 per game.

I wonder how big the SFS deal is.

talking to the guy at members day during the change room tour and he said they had a choice of the SFS and ANZ… he said they go to SFS for the atmosphere and easier to fill up (obviously) so you would think that ANZ would offer more... i really enjoy games at the SFS... ANZ is a poorly built stadium.

also asked him if there were any big developments regarding our home grounds at the moment and he said none.

ANZ stadium is not a poorly built stadium, its a 'purposely' built stadium for the olympics and nothing else….. thats the problem. terrible ground for watching league. unless youre in good seats youre only at the ground for atmosphere and to watch main plays on the screen.

i wish we didnt have to play home games away from leumeah and lillyfield

My thinkings actually changed on this topic.
We need to do a Dogs/Souths and move to ANZ full time
ONE home ground ONCE and for ALL.

I don't know what it's like on game day when we play at Campbelltown but but when we play at Leichhardt on a Sunday the surrounding suburbs are electric.
Like many that live in the area I pub crawl with friends to and from the game. Leichhardt Oval is a bastion of strength. I'm sure Campbelltown is the same although it's so hard to get to I've never been there.
I wish our home games were split 50/50 between Leichhardt and Campbelltown, with all games played on weekekend afternoons

how is campbelltown stadium hard to get to? its right next to leumeah train station and right near main roads with plenty of parking. leichhardt oval is harder to get to except for people that live near there

i think that is what he was talking about, that he lives in the area. so LO is an easy stroll for him, yet maybe being one of those chic inner suburb style, monty doesnt have a car capable of a little motorway action :stuck_out_tongue:
I love going to LO, just hate trying to find parking anywhere nearby, especially if the school hasnt opened up it's gates. Cambo, sadly i have never been, (but it is pretty darn easy for me, 2 corners i'm on the M7, then straight there), yet it seems everytime we play there i have commitments that mean i cant get to the game so have to watch it delayed.

Harder to get to if you're pub crawling Alian

1 Home Ground, the rest is just sweetheart stuff…

Its time to forge 1 identity and put the Wests Magpie on 1 sleeve and the Balmain Tiger on the other, and put all our resources into firstly creating a National Identity, and secondly an International Brand as the Wests Tigers!

Like it ….

Its always surprised me how many people I know have never been to cambo....I think many casual fans only still go to their original grounds

Makes sense to me.
I personally prefer going to Campbelltown because it is so easy to get to, but I also like the atmosphere of Leichhardt. In saying that ONE ground, wherever, is what we need. Time to get that home ground advantage in every home game, not just 2/3 of them.

Yes as much as it would hurt people…in the long term it would be better financially but i cant see it happening in the near future.

Ive been to both c-town is easier for me to get to but i love leichhardt oval(except for the toilets)go to leichhardt games mainly except for some mondays nighters. To hard for the kids.

Do you think cronulla should start looking at that to.

All three grounds are a pain to get to for mine but I still love attending the games at all three.

I can only imagine the uproar on this forum if they took the games away from Lilyfield and Campbelltown.

I guess it'd sort out the REAL TRUE supporters…..but that could also be a financial disaster for the club as well.

It wouldn't worry me. Anything that ensures the financial viability of the club is fine by me (as long it isn't ethical or moral issue.)

I remember the hiding everyone gave the club for playing the semis at SFS last year. Would have thought solvency to ensure there is a club to follow in the first place would be everyone's primary concern.

Yeah but last year against the roosters they shouldnt have played at the sfs its the roosters home ground….i think if we couldnt play it at either of our home grounds then it should have been at homebush.
