Fulton to miss 1 trial game

I thought Fulton played well last night. Not a good tackle and should get a 2 match suspension. All players know the rules for lifting other players above the horizontal. No excusses. Dugan is going to be hard to leave out of the SSO. Hayne will have to play wing.

Bennett seemed very happy with Fulton.

Anyway it should be an early plea with no suspension at worst. Thurston landed on his forearm

Fulton is the sought of player every side needs. Does a lot of defensive work that doesn't go un-noticed by the coaches. This week would have been great for him to be coached by Wayne. I have said it before if Fulton was a Queenslander he would have played Origin. He is a Dallas Johnson type player in defence with more skills with the ball. He will never play for NSW but would not let anyone down if he did get the chance.

Your right–I think more like a Ashley Harrison clone.

IDK what I said wrong?? :s except for the TLL part which Innk pointed out correctly.

It was embarassing watching him fall for Thurston's dummies twice. He had one lose carry early in the game, then another one which shld have been a scrum to Ind. but refs made a mistake as Fults had clearly lost the ball.

There were also some missed tackles, which I cannot quite remember but I did saw atleast three.
Then, there was the stupid tackle on Thurston.

I agree he had one typical break off a good Benji ball and that well timed hit on Thurston but he was nowhere near what we saw of him last season.

Maybe, I was only paying attention to him and Benji in the game coz they were the only players I cared about, but I wasn't happy with the way Fulton played. If people think he was good tonight then I'm gonna respect their opinion I guess.

Guys

I really thought he looked out of place. As I stated before Fults is one of my fav players cause he works hard with the Talent he has, (Plus he's real funny).

I know its the first game and that but his performance was very un Fulton like. Missed tackles and no go forward at all.

No Biased Tiger Goggles here.

I wasn't impressed.

I think he went pretty well - remember being a Tigers players you were probably watching Liam a bit closer than the others.

Fulton is facing two weeks on an early guilty plea or 3 if he fights it and loses.
Whilst TLL can escape a ban with an early guilty plea for his knees on B. Morris, how ridiculous!

Tender Loving lahrs was worse than what Gibbs got weeks for and a penalty try given against him.

NRL consistancy strikes yet again

Liam Fulton (Tigers), Ryan James (Titans) and Tom Learoyd-Lahrs (Raiders) cited from All Stars match

IT MIGHT have been an exhibition game but the NRL All Stars-Indigenous clash at Skilled Park on Saturday night has proved costly for the West Tigers and Gold Coast Titans and Canberra Raiders.

Three players, **Liam Fulton (Tigers**), Ryan James (Titans) and Tom Learoyd-Lahrs (Raiders), were cited by the NRL match review committee after the match.

**Fulton was charged with a grade-two dangerous throw and faces two weeks on the sideline if he pleads guilty (three weeks if he fights the charge and loses).**

James (dangerous contact, pressure on head/neck) will cop a week's suspension while Learoyd-Lahrs (dangerous contact, knees) will be handed a week's suspension even though an early guilty plea will attact only 90 demerit points because he has a 20 per cent loading for previous form.

**The suspensions can be served in official NRL trials.**

Thankfully he can serve the suspension in the two upcoming trials. If you can be charged in a trial, you should be able to serve a trial.

Don't worry Smeg, it's only going to get better with Bill "OPSM" Harrigan at the helm :unamused:

meh,

pleads guilty, lines up against the dogs in round one, nice and easy.

He's had a good hit out vs the all stars bennett liked him, and kept him out there for more than half the game, and therefore he should be ready for an "easier" game against the doggies..

Was thinking exactly the same thing. I cant remember how many games Gibbs got ( I think it was 3 from memory) but TLL was way worse. NRL judiciary is a joke!!!!!!!

Wests Tigers backrower Liam Fulton is in danger of missing the opening round of the NRL season after being charged with making a dangerous throw in Saturday night's All Stars match.
>
Fulton was slapped with a grade two dangerous throw charge by the match review committee for his ugly tackle on Indigenous All Stars skipper Johnathan Thurston, and faces two weeks on the sidelines with an early guilty plea.
>
The rangy backrower, who only earned selection in the NRL All Stars side when both Gareth Ellis and then Chris Heighington pulled out through injury, risks a three game ban should he unsuccessfully contest the charge.
>
A three game ban would wipe Fulton out of the Tigers' round one clash against Canterbury, with players allowed to count two trial matches as part of their suspension.
>
The Tigers play Parramatta and the Sydney Roosters in their two official trial matches over the next weekends.
>
Fulton may however have his charge further reduced with officials still to determine whether he is eligible for the seven-year incident-free discount.
>
He was one of three players to earn the ire of the match review committee, with Canberra's Tom Learoyd-Lahrs and his Indigenous All Stars teammate Ryan James also charged.
>
Learoyd-Lahrs can escape suspension with an early guilty plea after making late contact with his knees following Brett Morris' third minute try, while James will miss one game with an early plea after being charged over a crusher tackle.
>

That's shame for Liam but at least he will be on deck for round 1 against the Bulldogs. It somewhat opens up a small window of opportunity for someone to impress in the backrow during the trials now.

It is a shame as he was looking good during the game and it would have only given him a bigger start to the season to play in the trials, but he is extremely lucky not to miss any premiership matches, so I suppose it has worked out in his favour somewhat.

Wests Tigers back-rower Liam Fulton will miss just 1 trial match after being cited by the NRL match review committee following the All Stars clash.

Fulton was charged with a grade two dangerous throw and originally faced two weeks on the sideline if he pleaded guilty (three weeks if he fought the charge and lost).
However the charge was reduced to one match due to an early plea and the fact that Fulton has had a clean record for the past seven years.

Fulton will miss the trial against Parramatta at Campbelltown Sports Stadium on Saturday, February 19, at 7.30pm. He will be available for Wests Tigers’ final trial when they take on Sydney Roosters in the Foundation Cup at the Sydney Football Stadium on Saturday, February 26

can someone please explain to me why if they plead not guilty and are then found guilty they are suspended for longer than if they just plead guilty
