Fulton to miss 1 trial game

Don't think Fulton had a good off-season. One good break with a good Benji ball, but plenty missed tackles, falling aplenty for Thurston's dummies, couple of loose carries, and that stupid tackle.

Hope he cleans up his act, this is not how I hoped a Tiger would play in rep games.

You must have watched a different game than I.

Lets hope commonsence prevails here….

Exibition Game = No Foul Play = No Suspension

Anyone with half an idea would know that players timing and technics are not ready at this time of the year, hence why we have another 4 weeks before the Season starts...

Bennett seemed very happy with Fulton.

Anyway it should be an early plea with no suspension at worst. Thurston landed on his forearm

Must admit that I didnt see the tackle so cant commetn directly on that but I actaully thought he played pretty well. Dont forget that it is the first hit out for the season so plenty of cobwebs and also for Fults he is in a situation that he isn't used to.

Was it just me or do you guys think Fults has bulked up a bit from last year, not massive just seems to have put on a bit of extra size.

I went to the game last night and watched Liam quite a bit. My impression is he tried a bit too hard last night, which caused him to rush up and fall for a few dummies. He was doing plenty of covering where he would run behind a closer sliding player to make a tackle. I think Liam could be in for another great season but he might be missing the first game after that tackle. :frowning:

There was nothing in it, thought Fulton looked good. Wondering why Heigho wasn't second choice though.

Heighno was second choice but is recovering from off-season ankle surgery.

I noticed that at the end, he was having a good chat with Liam as soon as the game finished, a few smiles shared between the two of them. Can't see Liam missing more than a week for that tackle.

So how do people think he went

Me and my mates thought he went great and really showed he could match it, made breaks, chip kicks, playing out of position, forced an error out of prince and had Thurston under pressure all night and was his usual self working hard in defence and showed he was easily able to keep up at the top level even playing at centre as he did last night - I think a big season ahead for Liam

In was shocked to see a couple of comments in different threads on here saying he was poore we all though he was great and was in the top 3 out their and we wernt all tigers supporter

I thought he went really well. Made a few half breaks and one good break, was solid in defence and showcased his utility value by slotting into the centres and dummy half throughout the game.

How anyone can say he had a poor game is beyond me.

Fulton looked good out there. Never had a great view of the tackle and no replay was really looked at. It did hear Gus say that it was a good tackle and shouldn't have been a penalty. Doubt Fulton will miss the star of the year.

If the NRL is fair dinkum TLL should get 5 weeks miss 2 trials and the first 3 comp games for the very late knees in the back.

There was a replay looked at on the broadcast

Take off the goggles, theres enough to put him on report, you cant dump blokes on their heads anymore

Fulton played well. Looks very fit. I am sure that was not an easy game for a first hit out of the season.

1 week suspension at most IMO.

I felt Fulton looked like one of the team - He didn't look out of his depth, and the line break he made was some gold work by benji.

He did nothing wrong on the line break (morris messed up the ball back inside), and the chip and chase was a beauty, considering for all intensive purposes, he is a second rower.

Of note another lousy game played by Tonga. He is such a ball hog, and blows up during tackles.

IDK what I said wrong?? :s except for the TLL part which Innk pointed out correctly.

It was embarassing watching him fall for Thurston's dummies twice. He had one lose carry early in the game, then another one which shld have been a scrum to Ind. but refs made a mistake as Fults had clearly lost the ball.

There were also some missed tackles, which I cannot quite remember but I did saw atleast three.
Then, there was the stupid tackle on Thurston.

I agree he had one typical break off a good Benji ball and that well timed hit on Thurston but he was nowhere near what we saw of him last season.

Maybe, I was only paying attention to him and Benji in the game coz they were the only players I cared about, but I wasn't happy with the way Fulton played. If people think he was good tonight then I'm gonna respect their opinion I guess.

The worst part about the entire All Star game was Gidley lowering the standard of every position he was put in

Geeze I must've been watching an entirely different game judging by other people's opinions.  I thought he was pretty good @ fullback and sometimes @ half but he was really crap @ centre.

i thought fulton had a mixed game, did some really good things and some poor things. but for the years first hit out with a group of guys who got together 5 days earlier it was to be expected

the tackle wasnt good, however it was one on one and when you drive a bloke back one on one it doesnt take much to tip him. if it was a regular season game he would get 2-3 weeks imo. hopefully due to it being a mickey mouse game he just misses a trial or two.

on the game itself how good was benji, was the best player on the field by so far its not funny. he just picked off where he left last season.

Ennis's kicking game would have to fight it out with Gidley.
