Funny Laurie Nichols Story

Reprehensible comment Gazza. He was a passionate fan who put a smile on everyones face around him.

I have many fond memories of Laurie at Leichhardt Oval as a young fella.

We could have had a psychopath like Skull Murphy attend our games.

The man was as loyal as they come, I remember when we voted on the merger he got up on stage balling his eyes out pleading for us not to merge, I'm glad he never got to see the Wests Tigers play it just wasnt meant to be.

There wasn't a dry eye in the auditorium.

God Bless You Laurie you are a Legend and make me proud to say I'm a Tiger

A St George *fan who had repetoire for having a foul temper and acting on it. At one point was banned from attending their games.

*psychopath.

Never forget seeing him in the Singlet for the freezing cold day at Wembley in 1990 ?? in the Ashes test shadow boxing

I believe he is permanently banned. In addition to being a violent thug, the bloke is a prominent supporter of the lunar right up to and including the Nazi Party. In short, a nasty piece of work.

oh i think i know who you are talking about. did he used to abuse jason ryles when he played for dragons???

Fair go Spartan - I don't think you can open up another topic for every minor tangent… I do agree with your assessment on Laurie Nichols however. An extremely passionate and well loved man. I believe the players' tunnel has a plaque in his honour at Leichhardt. The cat story I believe is apocryphal but funny none the less!

Another one of the famous Laurie Nicholls stories out of the local hero Wayne Pearce story which may even be true was hatched at Newcastle where a local barracker was giving Gary jack hell .Laurie bided his time ,& when the bloke when into one of the port-a-loos on top of the hill he locked the door & pushed the dunny down the hill what a character.
