Re-sign to top squad: Fiagatusa, Santi, Seumanufagai
Re-sign to NSW cup squad: Bullock, Manumalealii

I assume Funaki is gone already.

Looks like we'll only have an under 20s team next year, no NSW cup, players all gone?

The rumour is holden cup will be scrapped next year, so we only will need one lower grade team.

Maybe we can get Enfield Federals A grade to be our NSW Cup team

Wouldnt miss a single one of those listed…except maybe Ava at a long stretch.....

It's clear that all involved are unraveling this mess and have chosen to "rip the band-aid" off quickly vs trying to slowly fix it over time.

In the next 2-3 years, the guys on backended contracts should be gone and Farah will retire, saving us $900K per year (maybe more depending on how his deal was structured).

Brooks and Moses should be well established and Tedesco and Woods should be regular Origin/International players. We'll have a good nucleus.

We will end up losing some good players over this as no one wants to play in a consistently poor team, but we will come out of it with big money to spend. We just need to make sure we don't waste it.

Most of these guys would be on fairly modest contracts. There is a minimum amount, I think it's $100k that a contract must be registered at. So releasing all these players will not achieve too much salary cap relief.

Ava and Lovett have to stay

Too much work has gone into these blokes and too much potential in these guys

Yes and No. In that order.

Lets judge Lovett once he has played with our starting centres for more than one game

Actually lets judge this whole side when we have our starting centres for more than one game

Will that ever happen Happy? They're so injury prone. :frowning:

Just 😛ray: for them TM

I would only keep Ava from that list. Happy for the rest to go elsewhere or retained on second tier contracts.

I really would like Ava to play more minutes off the bench and maybe start on occasions.

half of them will be re-signed. by the nsw cup side. they need players too. If we're not signing fringe first graders where will our nsw cup side come from? everyone under 21? They'll be on like 50k contracts unless they get a better offer here or in the UK.

What happens when the "contract mess" is fixed? we may have room under the salary cap, but there may be a lot of teams in the same boat bidding for the same players, and lets be honest with no 3rd party agreements we are well behind the likes of the roosters, Souths, broncos etc. So it's possible we wont get the players we are after

With a new sponsor and Harry in the wings for TPAs we should attract some good talent for 2017/2018.

I highly doubt the NRL will accept any TPA's that have any association with Harry.

Looking forward to seeing a new sponsor!

Why won't the NRL accept TPA's from Harry

How do we even know that there will be TPA's from Meriton.

He may want to stay involved but we cant be 100% sure it will be in the form of TPA

From what I have heard he will be involved with the Balmain juniors in some capacity…

When I said Balmain juniors..I meant who ever the WTs junior base is..it could be the Maggies kids as well…I will go to my source in the next couple of days and see what I can drum up....

The tigers do a fantastic job with the Jr development. I really like our young core at the moment, I just hope they develop in the current structure and environment.
Unfortunately we aren't the only ones who develop talent to see it leave to the more profitable clubs. My concern for us is that we have an NRL picked board and have relied on a loan from them to stay afloat so are we really in control of our own destiny at the moment?
Even if Harry is to be involved to be successful in this competition it seems you need a large number of TPA's not just a few and owing money to the NRL will we be allowed to use the revenue as it comes in
