We could use some strike power in the backs but our forwards were not as good as theirs tonight

Edit: added Nuikore's metres

When you have literally 30% possession in the second half that’s to be expected

Tigers had 45% possession. I was just pointing out to the people saying we need a new 1-7 and our forwards are great that our forwards were dominated.

Second half we barely saw the footy. We probably made twice as many tackles as they did.

We aren’t an elite pack yet but you can see we are building towards it and I think that’s what people are excited about. Our forwards are mostly very young and will keep getting better.

Having some halves who could control a game with their kicking would also help us a lot

The forward pack is taking shape and very deep.
Props: Aloai, Mikalele, Stefano, Packer, Musgrove
Locks: Twal, Blore, Eiso, Mcintyre
Backrow: Luciano, Garner, MCK

We need to sign a couple of edge forwards with Lawrence, McQueen being moved on as we have a serious drop off and lack of depth there. I think Blore is mobile enough to play wide.

Tigers need to offload Reynolds, Mbye next year. Packer at this level is fine no point subsidising a release if he plays like this. Clarke is solid defensively but we have too many props and he’s the weakest.

More I watch Douehi his ball playing is way better than I suspected but his lack of speed is a liability at fullback. I think he’s destined for the 6 jersey if and when Benji retires. I think it’s this year.

If we can attract a quality fullback with speed, winger that’s explosive we will challenge. Talau has left centre written all over him.

Future is on the right edge.

Will they be looking to extend his contract beyond next year?

He has only just arrived at the club and recently recovered from a serious knee injury so there is no talk at this point. That will probably change quickly and would likely happen at seasons end.

Seen a few people on here mention Blore at lock which would be a terrible outcome. His best asset is his line running/hitting holes between the opposition halfback and second rower. He isn't a ball player or hit-up machine. Playing him at lock would take away his biggest asset and be a total waste.

They've identified him as the future right edge back rower, which is part of the reason Luciano moved to the left (that and his defense with his brother).

Big things to come from Blore.

Thanks. Hopefully those chats to extend start as soon as possible. I would be absolutely gutted if we lost him.

To run some decent metres, it helps if you have the ball.

Packer also ran about 120 metres as a decoy, which of course doesn't count..

And made about 40 tackles. Packer's performance (apart from the suspension) was good last night.

That 10 metres for Matterson wasn’t that-10 as he went backwards after Packer hit him.

Wasn't it Warren Ryan that said in props, you need 2 on the field, 2 on the bench and 2 suspended?

Garner & Leilua can bust through the line and are "try-scoring" back rowers. In saying that I am impressed with Leiluas defence in particular, but Garner can hit also.

If the back row rotation is Blore and Utoikamanu, then we have a monster back row that is strong, fast and can defend. Pretty intimidating.

Lock is a bit of a toss up and Twal probably goes there, but honestly I prefer him at prop.

Our forwards are young and only going to get better. Maguire has recruited well.

Our backs are the real issue and difference between us being a top side and where we are now,

Not much quality half backs on the market.

We need 2 quality backs with speed and one who can goal kick as well.

I believe Alex Johnston from South's could be a benefit at full back. Herbert Farnworth from Broncos. Kicked 62 goals last year for North Devils.

We have to educate Brooks or move him on and promote Madden. Agree we need John's or Cronk to be their mentor.

No more pillows.

NB, I haven't watched him play before and understand he might be a gun.

Looks like a plodder to me

How about we give Blore and Stefano at least a year in FG before we decide what capacity they have as footballers?

Blore has already hit the ground running

Stefano needs a MASSIVE pre season

Garner to play that bench / cover backrower you predict? Ie Replace the Chee Kam role?

Correction:
WT second tier forwards run 300m less than their best!
We were missing: Twal, Musgrave, Miakele and Garner.
