FYI Cronulla and Gold Coast Game Betting Cancelled

If the worst senario occurs and Cronulla face financial insolvency in no way should they be helped by NRL or anybody else. Cronulla should of been punted 20yrs ago and they would of been except for the support of the league time after time. This is the opportunity to expand to another state, Cronulla IMO have been the beggars of the league for way to long …..have thought this way for 20yrs.

It will cost the NRL more money in penalties to the broadcasters for not supplying the product promised, and that is 8 games a week. Cronulla will be propped up.

No reason the ARLC couldn't put the Sharks on notice until 2014 to fix their financial on field issues or they find a replacement with one of the contenders from the previous bidders for a NRL contract or offer them relocation to Perth ,Ipswich, Central Coast etc

I've thought this way for twenty years too, but it's irrelevant. This should be treated on its merits, and until ASADA has evidence, it has no merit.

I don't know about that…if you are taking performance-enhancing drugs then you are cheating IMO. People that have been doing it and get caught will pass it off as "just trying to get a little edge over the rest of the competition". But it is straight-out cheating.

Is it cheating if they didn't know what they were taking? Maybe if they were suspicious or turned a blind eye, but who knows what they took? Dank? He's not talking. At this point is it still conjecture. They've gone for the soft targets, but now that they have legal representation, they ain't sayin' nothing. ASADA's bluff has been called. Clearly they have no positive samples, so they're fishing for confessions. Small men with little dicks trying to prove to the world that they are important. Still, i could be wrong;-)

Yes my apologies for calling her a guy. I don't proof-read these posts as well as I should. I make no judgement on her honesty or independence but the fact is she went into her meeting with them with one opinion and left with another that supported the players taking a 6 month plea.

You should have stuck to your guns YOSS. The ex ASADA prosecutor that suggested the Sharks take the plea was a male by the name of Richard Redman. Dr Kavanagh's mandate was completely different.

Well hands up time - I don't know anything about the guy/woman or whoever is advising the Sharks players. All I heard was before meeting ASADA they were advising players to fight, post meeting they advised them to take a 6 month suspension. Either ASADA are the greatest salesmen of all time all the evidence is a bit more solid than some people think it is.

Anyway once people take the deals and start talking everything will become clearer.

He's made it quite clear… it's taken the gloss off the premiership this year. The NRL has enough dramas as it is without this coming around. I understand its a process that must happen but the whole year could well be a write off if the doping is widespread.

Firstly everything that has come out has been generated by the media and rumors on forums like this. ASADA and the ACC are a statutory body and as such cannot divulge any information about anyone. When they are charged you will know who they are and you might find out what the evidence that supports it is. Till then keep reading the telegraph and listening to Hadley to get all your reliable information.
As an aside, the chairman of cronulla is on record as having documents showing the injection of horse drugs and tablets "not fit for human consumption" were supplied to players…. And they didn't know they were taking something dodgy? Please!
