Gag order required for Hagipantelis and Pascoe

Might be an unpopular opinion but I am sick and tired of these two and their love for being quoted in the media.

Pascoe, twice this year, for both Parramatta games give Nicolussi fodder to create 'rivalry' articles in SMH on Moses and Matterson, making us look as if we're talking tough prior to the game and then even more ridiculous when we lost (both games), and dont even get me started on us playing parra twice at bankwest AGAIN...

Hagipantelis, always talking big game about prospective signings and now talking tough in regards to Aloiai... (Dont get me wrong, both sides look bad in this situation). Guess what, no marquee signings and the only real result is continuing an ongoing media circus around the club

This is such a bad look for the club, I cant really think of many other clubs that provide this much cash-for-comment crap chasing media exposure, and the one i can think of was the Broncos last year, and we all know how that panned out...

I used to try and remain positive during these kind of situations, 'It'll blow over', 'I'm sure they know what they're doing' etc etc, but this neverending positioning of WT as a club unable to get a deal done, and as publicly as possible is past a joke..

We can blame the player agents etc for agitating, but the real professional clubs get the deals done behind closed doors without comment in the media, and theyre the ones that remain respectable. Our administration HAVE to start acting professionally, because it hurts as a fan only seeing this club in relation to controversy, as opposed to results.

I disagree. For too long we have allowed Newscorp to trot all over us. We are always painted as the bad guy. This time we were on the front foot and made sure the narrative was in our favour.

theres that side too.. but the only way to stop that happening is to get results. And the more our front office supplies comment, the more that newscorp can twist it

Will give them a chance to at least match their actions to the rhetoric this time. I can see your point though and think if they eventually let Aloiai walk then they need to be gagged.

Feel it is funny, don't take offence.

You want Lee and Pascoe to shut up but you go on a public Forum and mention dirty washing. Lol

agreed, theres no turning back at this point

The Chairman is a clown. 3 times in 12 months he’s stuck his nose into contract negotiations. Twice he’s come out mid-contract negotiation with 2 marquee players, and run his mouth. Not saying he cost us those players, but he made the club look amateurish. And he still can’t help himself discussing James Roberts. He’s a moron. As for Pascoe, I’ve shared emails with him, he seems like a genuinely decent guy, but take pride in your appearance man. If not for your sake, the clubs.

Very ordinary comment.
Time to give yourself a nice little uppercut.
If you're so gun ho ..... go and tell them personally or is that too far from your keyboard.

We needed to strongly put our case forward in the media. Otherwise it would have been more "Tigers in shambles" "club in crisis" hysterical reporting

You'd think the club would have learned after publicly playing out contract dramas with Tedesco, Woods, Moses, Farah, Cleary, Matterson and, now, Aloiai.

Anyone see a pattern?

We should be doing what Melbourne did with JAC.

"He's asked for a release, but he won't be getting one until we get a replacement". Avoid the soap opera crap about what was said 4 weeks ago and the mowing the lawn stuff.

Aloiai has shown himself to be a tool, but Lee has thrown fuel on the fire to make it 10 times worse.

What about my comment is incorrect?

Enjoying us staying firm for once, don't think the lawn-mowing comment if true was necessary however.
Just keep professional

There appears to be some internal issues within the club, sure, but at least the club is now trying to stand up and not be bullied or harassed into releasing players we didn't want to release.

That's (hopefully) the change here, if there's no change and we let Aloiai go without any advantage for us (and just getting rid of him as a negative influence is NOT good enough) then we are seriously pathetic.

Our Chairman is just positioning the Club for whatever eventuates. WTs no doubt doesn't want to be in this position but this is where it finds itself at the start of the pre-season. I support him fully calling out this 'template' move.

Completely agree with you @Kazoo-Kid They made a few mistakes recently, but certainly learned. The narrative is on our side with Aloai, which is a marked improvement. I’m liking them calling journalists to discuss and also the use of other media groups to get messages out (SEN the other day).

It’s good to see some fight in challenging the perception of our reputation. Especially the managers manipulation of journalists to prejudice perceptions of us or our coach. The more we talk, the less sway managers have over the narrative.

Not sure Pascoe has said much recently either

There is no way the club could be silent on this. Can you imagine with the "Ill never pull on aTigers jersey again" headline and the club just shut up? Tigers in Crisis next headline etc etc instead the club got on the front foot and the narrative and media has been very supportive of the Tigers which of course paints the club not on the decline but drawing a line in the sand.

I really think Pascoe is still gun-shy from his comments about Robbie's post career job cam back to bite us. He barely speaks through the media now at all.

Edit: (Which is fine.)
