Gallen may be a tiger

Bring him to the club - under Sheens he will be more disciplined. Sheens has obviously built a great repore with him on the Kangaroos tour and he must now want to play under him.

Well done Sheens for chatting with these guys on tour.

Gallen, i am all for it!

Not sure how i would feel if Gallen signed as i do think he is a bit f a grub but on the other hand he is a damn good player on his day and would add some more mongrel to our pack. Probably go to many anyway as grubs fit in there nicely

Well we have lost Penalty Payne, so I think that we could keep our penalty count balanced by bringing in Gallen.

I would be happy to have him in the Tigers, we obviously have 'some' cash after missing out on Lima. Maybe not enough though to beat an offer from Manly. If he is really disgruntled, hopefully he is happy with a pay cut.

I can't see Cronulla letting him go though…

I'd have him : he is a hard hitter and runs the ball strongly plays a great game at Lock.Off field antics another story. However if you want a premiship we need a bloke with his ability to give us the grunt in the pack.My thoughts only…..

Totally agree with you,
He is the type of player that we need to win a comp.
He reminds me of Michael Crocker, an absolute grub but will do whatever it takes to win.
Melbourne used Crocker succesfully and I think we could do the same with Gallen.
He would add some much needed mongrel to our pack.

Gallen would be the iceing on the cake, evry team needs a grub but i can't see it happening
Sticky Stuart will pull him aside & smooth it out with him
bring it on if it happens :sign:

Huge fan of Gallen's….the guy has practically carried the Sharks for the past 2 seasons. A backrow of Ellis,Rhino & Gallen is mouth watering and defensively as good as it gets. 3 x80min workhorses.

Cronulla has expressed surprise at a report that controversial star PAUL GALLEN wants to quit the Sharks and join another NRL club.

Cronulla chief executive RICHARD FISK has issued a statement stressing that former skipper Gallen is "an integral part of the club's plans" for the length of his contract until the end of 2011.

It follows a Daily Telegraph report that GALLEN is aggrieved after his latest disciplinary fine from the club last week and approaches had been made on his behalf to Wests Tigers and Manly about joining them in 2010.

FISK says he's aware that GALLEN was disappointed to be fined for his most recent off-field indiscretion, but having spoken to him and his manager on several occasions he's surprised to read today's story and no official request for a release has been made.

GALLEN was fined $10,000 last week for urinating in public, that penalty coming after the fiery Test forward was stripped of the captaincy and fined $10,000 for a racial slur earlier this year.
aap

I think one thing we can be sure of is that the WT's wouldn't sign someone unless they are sure they are going to do the right thing off the field.

Gallen would make the tigers into a top4 team he has a great offload and his strong as an ox and would give us something we dont have a top quality lock…

I love his style of play he is a grub but everyteam needs one and its wat the tigers r missing some hard out aggression...

His misdemeaners off the field have been petty things and from all reports is a top bloke...

I'd take Gallen in a heartbeat. I don't blame him for leaving cronulla either. fancy being fined $5000 for pissing on a wall, it was downright wrong, whatever the police gave him would have been enough punishment.

Wasn't there money around for Lima…....

Gallen.........Hmmm on one hand he is the grub of the highest order.......but he can play and would definately bring added mongrel.......

Would be interesting to see how much the Tigers do have left after missing out on Lima!

I'm intruguied how we have managed to fit everything under the cap this year. Possibly backloading again? Otherwise it scares me how much we were spending on Morris, payne, galea, halatau & collis. Although, we did sign a lot guys who have had injury concerns.

Sounds like most people on the forum are in unison! Would love to get him on board as long as he doesn't damage the image of the club.

You can never be sure if someone is going to behave themselves. We signed Taumata so you never know. One thing we have on our side is Tim Sheens is Kangaroos coach and Gallen might think he has more chance playing for Australia if he signs with Wests..
