Galloway for Origin debut as Merrin exits

The problem with leaving a prop debutant on the bench for so long is the amount of energy they burn up just waiting to go on.

Plus I think Galloway was trained to run off Ennis only and he was supposed to structure the plays. Instead you had Gidley making a all you can eat buffet meal out of the PTB.

That's what it looked like to me too, KG actually looked tired when he got out there! And it was like he was observing the game and waiting for something rather than busting to get involved so there must be more to it.

Plus, as a regular starting player it must be very hard to come on after 55mins and try to get into an Origin game that is already settled into a fast pace.

Also look at the scoreline when Sauce came on . NSW were needing to play an expansive game at that stage . It just wasn't really set up for him imo . He should of at least replaced Mannah after his first (and only ) stint when he came off to keep some size in the forwards

I agree with Smeg re Gidley at dummy half. Could see KG there ready for the hitup but it looked like no one knew what they were doing. Possibly Keith could have demanded the ball, but think players were getting in his way. Anyway, pretty hard to be critical of KG when he was only on for 10 mins.

With Ennis going off early and the immense amount of defense NSW had to endure in the early stages the game was entirely out of Galloway's control. Sticky had no choice but to throw all his 80 minute players on to save on interchanges. If he had have given Mannah another run or brought Galloway on earlier that would have been two more interchanges because neither of them could have been relied on to last the entire 80 minutes. I'm sure had NSW had more control early and Ennis remained on the field Galloway would have come on at something like the 20th and off at the 30th, on at the 50th and off at the 60th and Gallen would have been rested.

That doesn't explain why he couldn't leave KG on longer.
I'm sure he could've handled more than 10mins.

Not untrue though Knuckles…..

Just on Galloway...what were his stats last night? He looked like a lost little lamb out there I think I saw him make a couple of gang tackles and at least one run - not a debut to remember unfortunately.

9 minutes, 4 runs, 18 metres, 5 tackles, I believe.

He actually made more metres than Mannah (15m), who played 20 minutes.

NSW would've been defending for close to 15 minutes of the 20 Mannah was out there.
