Keith Galloway has been picked to play off the bench for the Kangaroos against the Kiwis in the test up in Newcastle. Congratulations to Keith and also Chris Lawrence for making the starting side.

Kangaroos team v NZ: Billy Slater, Akuila Uate, Willie Tonga, **Chris Lawrence**, Darius Boyd, Darren Lockyer, Johnathan Thurston, Paul Gallen, Cameron Smith, Matt Scott, Luke Lewis, Sam Thaiday, Anthony Watmough.

Interchange: Cooper Cronk, **Keith Galloway**, David Shillington, Tony Williams.

Congrats to Rowdy and Big Red.

Also, Gallen at starting prop? Interesting choice considering there's two prop who would not look out of place on the starting side. I guess when it comes to fowards Gallen must be in a league of his own.

Thats an interesting side… Lots of new faces, great mix of exuberance and experience.

This test match will be a cracker!

Would one assume that Tonga will now tour with the side? Or just an inclusion to cover the injured Inglis?

He's in the squad for Brett Stewart I believe, who's pulled out. So he will tour. Inglis is still there, will have another week to overcome injury.

Just to clarify, is this test part of the four nations series? And if not, what purpose does it serve?

Question: Just to clarify, is this test part of the four nations series?
Answer: It's not part of the Four Nations Series.

Question: And if not, what purpose does it serve?
Answer: To provide both teams with a warm up to the Four Nations Series (and to make some extra money for the ARL and NZRL).

It's not part of the 4 nations, it's just a bit of a preparation match before the series. I think the Poms and Welsh are doing the same.

Congrats to Rowdy and Sauce on their selection. Very mobile starting pack for Australia with some serious size on the bench in Keith, Shillo and T-REX. I suspect Tonga will play right centre with Lawrence on the left.

Very well deserved selection. Surprised to see Boyd on the wing ahead of Yow Yeh - is he still recovering from the two knocks in the prelim?

So both the Stewart brothers have pulled out of the tour. Interesting. I know why Glenn was excusued, but Brett?

I heard on the radio that Brett had a niggling knee injury and just wanted to rest it for next season.

Anyways congrats Keith and Chris on making the team and hopefully there is many more tests to come for them.

alright maybe im an idiot - but i fail to understand how willie tonga makes the side before blake ayshford. i just dont get it.

I'd think Tonga's performances for Queensland would warrant his consideration, and that's no disrespect to Ayshford.

Hope Sheens remains Kangaroos coach for a long time to come. For once, Tigers players are actually getting recognised at rep level, something we've never experienced in our short history.

Congratulation to KG and Chris Lawrence on their selections for the test match. KG improved out of sight this year and thoroughly deserved selection. A guy who I've criticised in the past for his lack of aggression really proved me wrong this year and was our go-to man when we needed metres, can only admire the way he bounced back.

Congrats to Chrissy Lawrence as well, who started the season off exceptionally well and suffered a horrific injury which would seemingly keep him out for the whole year, but defied the odds and came back and played like he'd never been injured in the first place and played a big part in a few of our wins. To not play for a huge proportion of the year and still represent his country is making a statement about the type of player he is.
