Games In Empty Stadiums

Circumstances aside is anyone else intrigued to watch these games. It’s going to be something we’ve never seen before. Take out the atmosphere of a crowd and the whole dynamic changes. Players have no energy to feed off, and we’re going to hear things from the players, that we never usually would due to the crowd drowning it out. Will be weird when a break is made, or a try is scored at a critical time to be met with silence. It would have to have an affect on the players. I’m a keen observer. ANZ and Suncorp is going to be really interesting.

I think it will be like when you show up for the lower grades and can hear all the talk on the field. ANZ actually echos a lot when there is no crowd.

Even worse, I reckon it will be like watching them train! I think the lack of crowd noise and support will definitely affect the way teams play, perhaps some teams more than others? I know it will be weird for me just watching on TV. It’s totally unprecedented!

Yeah.... Similar o training... Or an opposed session is m thinking whslat this be like

I guess the ref's won't mind it

I hope they pre recorded crowd calls if they don't whose going to tell them to get onside or they're being doing it all day ref

Watched the Man Utd game last week and there was no fans there.

I could hear players calling and it added another layer to.the coverage which i really liked

WrestleMania will be interesting. Something else entirely of course. Unlike footy players who go out and have a job to do, part of a wrestlers job is to feed off the crowd. So not only are they doing it in an empty building, it’s the biggest show of the year. Plus, communicating in the ring would be near impoosible in an empty arena without having a crowd drowning out wrestlers calling what to do next. I haven’t watched current WWE in years, but that is another event that has me intrigued.

Dropkick Murphy's streamed their traditional St Paddy's day concert today with no crowd! I quite enjoyed it for a different experience!

they've played without crowds most of their lives, i don't see it as that big a deal for players

from the other sports that have been on, it doesn't seem to be critical. At the end of the day they still need to play well. May the best team win!!

Will add a different dynamic to the game. Not hiding, being able to hear everything will give teams an advantage and will be interesting how they work around this and which teams pick up things quickly.

Really uncharted territory for the wwe
You’re right ,wrestling is all crowd energy without it ,the product is strange lol
Especially the entrances
You can hear them sometimes even with the crowd haha

Saw that! It was awesome

Will they play crowd noise through speakers just to give players the sense of support eg when they are attacking the line they could ramp up eye of the Tiger and really boost the Tigers chant

I'd like to hear any sledging/niggle that happens between players.

They need to mike up JR I reckon 🤣
He upset a few drags the other day lol

I watched a game of soccer over the weekend in an empty stadium, it was like a high intensity training run, you could hear players, refs and coaches calling out. Kind of like in the old school days when we played cup games at stadiums. There is this echo and ampi theatre style sound that comes from a small crowed and up from the oval.

Rumours have it that the mayor of Gladstone is offering to ship all sides up here to live at Workers accommodation at Calliope and play all games at Marley Brown Oval .....
