Games lost on goalkicking

If we'd kept Hodgo and ran with:

1\. Hodgo

6\. Beni

7\. Moltzen

GK: Hodgo

All season = we'd be a top 4 team.

Letting Hodgo go has cost us dramatically.

Therefore why don't we give Mullany a go at fullback - kicks goals well & plays in a similar style to the great hodgo...???

From what I have seen of Mullaney, he can attack OK but have no idea if he can defend.

fullbacks on average make 5 tackles a game, defense isnt a major issue its whether he is up to it positionally and if his U20s form is anything to go by positioning is his best attribute

when you think about it goal kicking really shouldnt cost us.. the last 2 teams that won the comp had crap kickers Orford and Smith, I guess its because we just choke the close games

it shouldnt, but it did…
when some players are paid over $200k a year and part of their job is to kick goals, they should be kicking most of them.

Last year Wests Tigers had the highest goal kicking percentage for the season (only 78.4%, helped that El Masri was out injured a fair bit). This year we are second last with a chance of moving to last this week (64.7%, Warriors are on 64.4%). Of course, a lot of our tries have been scored on the wing this year, but I wouldn't think it was significantly more than other teams or other years.

On the other side of the coin, we have the second highest goal kicking percentage against us this season, also with a chance of moving to last this week (79.5%, Penrith are on 79.6%). That difference in goals scored to goals conceded has hurt us badly this year. There can be no arguments about that!

Highest tryscorer in the NRL is Tuiaki, most of our tries are out wide espesh this season, Marshall was always going to miss a lot of em.
