Is it really known Sheens feels that way? From my understanding its not the size of the fullback that he pinpoints, more the fact he hunts for a ball playing fullback. Remember Wests Tigers best ever fullback who was brought to the club by Sheens??? Brett Hodgson was smaller than anyone. Id say Gardners size wont be a factor, maybe the the fact he isnt a ball player will be. William Zillman is a former 5/8 i believe and he's more likely the type Sheens would want.

So after been one of our best players and certainly our most consistant, Sheens decides to ley Hodgo go because he's too small? And then plays the likes of McDonnell, Gallant, Moltzen and McKinnon? Hmmm

Gardner seems like a good player and would be a good signing.

Id personally prefer Billy Slater, reckon he'd go well with us.

We have about the same chance of signing either of them, which by chance is the same as Steve Roach and Daryl Brohman quinellaring the Hawaii Ironman next year

On Gardner, heard on the weekend he was in NSW cup due to commitment at training issues, mind you it was provided with the caveat that is only gossip

I like Gadner he seems to have heart and plays hard when the rest of the team seem to be stuggling.

This is truly an idiotic post hahaha :laughing: , he was a Wests Tigers player for many years under years under Sheens inlcuding winning the premiership with the most points from an NRL player that season and you believe the reason he was 'cut' was due to his lack of size? :crazy

The point I made is that Sheens let Hodgo go…do you know why?..for the life of me it was one huge surprise when it became clear that Hodgo wanted to stay at the Wests Tigers but Sheens didn't want to resign him....it's also FACT that generally Sheens likes the back 3 to have some height to them...

Ryan and Utai are exceptions to this rule. Hodgo wanted a longer deal than WT were prepared to offer, and then the money on offer in Super League became a lot more attractive.

My understanding it was for 2 reasons Money and contract size Tigers would only offer 1 year and less money Hodgo wanted more money and at least 2 year deal Fair enough from both sides I think
