Devastated that he's leaving,
Relieved that it's not immediate, as I first thought when I read the update.
Hopefully the boys can give him what he deserves.
The 2012 premiership.

Pffft IMO Sonny Bill only ever made 1 mistake , and that was signing a long term contract with the bulldogs . When he walked out he was correcting the mistake .
I judge SBW only on his prospect of being a proffessional athlete and ability to benefit a team , ATM those prospects are extremely apealling .

Damn.
IMO Ellis is our greatest buy since the merger. Just a wonderful player on the field and a terrific bloke off it. We couldn't have asked him to give anything more then he already did.
He is making the right choice for his family, so I wish him the best. Time to send him out as an NRL Premiership winning champion!

Weird time to announce this… Have we signed someone?
There's not much else that can be said that hasn't already been posted here.
No one deserves a premiership more than Ellis as his determination and will are always a 110% effort, even when the body is feeling more at 50%.
Hopefully we send him out a winner and all the best to Gareth and his family.

Gutted, my favourite WT player is leaving. Really don't want to believe this is official, but on the other hand family comes first and I understand and completely respect his decision.
He has been a champion for this club, hard as nails on the field and nothing short of a true gentleman off the field. He has become one of the greatest Englishmen to play in Australia and will no doubt be remembered as one of the greats for this club.

Spewing, but given what the bloke has done for the club on and off the field, he has earned his right when to call it a day here.
Not going to mourn yet though… He still has another year with us and I will look forward to him giving it one last run. Hopefully he can snag another players' award before heading back to finish up with the other mighty Tigers in the ESL. Easily the best purchase this club has made in it's history, and it will take a lot to top it for a very long time methinks.
Can't help but wonder what money that has freed up between Lote and himself though, both under the cap and third party... Must be making a play for Cronk or someone of that calibre.
