Gareth Widdop?

Whats peoples opinions on Gareth Widdop ??
Carves the Tigers up just about everytime we play Storm. He is off Contract next year.
Is a good 6 and prefers to play fullback…
Thurston is probably out of our price range, but I think we should start a rumour that the Tigers are interested in Signing Widdop!! Might snowball and take effect haha

Others decent players off contract that would be handy at the tigers

Pick of the names Bukuya Cordner Widdop and Hodgkinson

Bukuya isnt young anymore is he? pretty sure he spent a big chunk of his career in reserve grade. Cordner and Widdop would definitely be smart buys. Both great players in their positions and plenty of football infront of them. Hodgkinson is a great player but seems to be pretty injury plagued now.. Not sure if he will be able to recapture his early career form after such great set backs..

Widdop is a fantastic player and would be intrested , but i would give Jacob Miller a real go next year…

Extremely confused by the signing of finch, I don't understand what purpose it serves? Widdop is still heaps young and he's definitely a guy they can build a team around once the big 3 have retired. Hinchcliffe has the bench utility spot locked in so I don't see where finch will play. In saying that, i'd be extremely happy if we signed widdop, can play anywhere from 1-7 (although haven't seen him play in the centres I assume he could)

I'm pretty sure after next year finch will retire and I'm guessing they brought him for back up if I was Bellamy id choose widdop every time over finch

Confused??? Mate this is one of the best signings ever and has been basically due to the Storm being so damm good to play for.

Finch has agreed to play reserve grade for stuff all money just to be back up for Cronk come origin time. Now if that isnt the best back up half going around i dont know what is. He's promised a job when he retires so that was the sweetener, and he will get a chance if theres injuries, but let me ask you this…............if the Wests Tigers specifically brought Brett Finch to play reserve grade and be a back up for stuff all money would you say it was a good signing??? Of course it is.

Fair point sirro, I didn't really think about him playing reserve grade. Still seems unusual but the job after footy definitely helps the signing make more sense.
