Wow...I'm still stunned he was even charged but suspended...what planet are these people from???

Does this mean the NRL have drawn a line in the sand in regards to late hits ?

Only if your wearing a Tigers jersey ?

Smith copped the same charge, didn’t bother fighting it

Because he didn't have any carry over points and was free to play this round either way.

As much as I don't like Gus Gould, he said the other day that all these decisions ( MRC, Judiciary, Referees) are controlled by the knobs of the NRL.
I looks like he is right, just another way to try and squeeze us out of the NRL.

The reason Garner was suspended is he had carry over points so taking an early plea still cost him a game..

The joke is the carry over point weren't for the same offence it was a high tackle from last season not dangerous contact..

The whole system needs an overhaul..he wasn't suspended because he wears a Wests Tigers jersey ..he was suspended because the system is flawed..

At an exponential rate I’m struggling to agree with this. There was a segment on fox tonight showing the favouritism towards the storm in how long a defender lies on the tackled player. Blatant favouritism. It’s just becoming ridiculous.

Well! The idiots at Nrl Hq have set an unrealistic standard/precedence of how the human body is supposed to stop mid-action within a matter of seconds, which is anatomically impossible to do unless your playing freeze frame..

Same with me in regards to Gus “bull frog” Gould ..
But I’d love to see him oust Greenberg and his cronies from the NRL Penthouse

Gus does love Leichhardt on a Sunday afternoon!

Oh I agree there ...but that has nothing to do with the flawed judicial system..Any player who has carry over points faces suspension for a grade 1 charge taking the plea wont save them so you fight the charge

The NRL are the most disgraceful and unfair sporting organization on the planet

Garner plays for rorters or donkeys there wouldn't even of been a sinbinning or suspension

Todd Greenburg is a dud and should walk away from the job

In that case why wasn’t he advised to plead guilty instead of not guilty if he had carryovers?...He probably would have got off...👎

Was Lional Hutz Garners lawyer ?
Burgess seems to get off despite having a rap sheet longer than Adolf Hitler !

No if he pleads guilty the reduction plus his carry over points he still misses a game..thar's the point..

If he pleads not guilty and wins he's free to play..no carry over points from the current charge

I didn’t mention because I wasn’t sure. I was watching repeat of controversy corner. Then watched NRL tonight and then 360. I’m pretty sure it was highlighted on controversy corner

Thanks. Don't want to watch through all the repeats, so thought I would ask.

Is that it for him then? Or because he was found guilty do his points carry over for the next charge?

He still has carry over point

Dangerous contact Grade 1 is 120 points..or 1 game..you take the plea that is reduced to 75 points so you are free to play but carry that 75 points

In Garners case he had 35 point from a previous charge so 75 + 35 = 110 so he misses a game even if he takes the early plea

By fighting and losing it's 120 + 35 = 155 ..1 game suspension - 100 points so he now carries 55 points...If he had won he still would have carried the 35 points..as carry over points take 2 seasons to expire..

Turdberg will be so excited after getting the result he was hoping for he will have to get his head an extra polish in the morning.
"Fair not equal" is his motto

Well, that was a surprise - who would have thought that Garner would get suspended?

However the bigger question is - who would have thought he would have been penalised and sin binned?

How is it possible for a player to pull out of a tackle in a milli second, assuming that you knew the opposition player had got rid of the ball (in my opinion Garner could not see that the player had released the ball).

The judiciary is made up of former players Mal Cochrane, Michael Buettner, Bradley Clyde, Sean Garlick, Don McKinnon and Bob Lindner - players who should realise that you cannot pull out of a tackle with such limited time - I would suggest that maybe the game has gone past these guys and a new committee should be appointed - players with their fingers on the pulse.

As for the NRL and Greenturd - they keep on wanting to prove that the officials of the game are incompetent and that it is a level playing field.

The supporters of at least 10 NRL teams know this is not true and the whole thing is a sham and becoming more than a joke.

NRL 360

@Geo
Right,
That’s not at all confusing, but thanks for the explanation.
Likely if his charged in the future he’ll miss a game again regardless.
Question,?
Do the carry over points reduce over time as ‘sort of a good behaviour bond’?
