Shocked and saddened by this news.

Have been posting intermittently since 05 and @Geo was always the Mods mod in my opinion.

Never new him personally but sensed he was from the Magpies side of the JV and had the gift of moderation without stifling posters....and a deep insight into the game who knew his stuff.

Going to be sorely missed by everyone here so can only imagine the huge loss those close to him are feeling.

I just heard about Geoff’s passing. I am shocked.

For me, Geoff has always been the rudder of this forum, and integral to this forum being the games’ best fan forum in the NRL.

We so easily take everything for granted, even life itself. I was so fortunate to have met Geoff way back in the Wests Magpies Campbelltown days, sitting up in the stand and looking down and seeing him with his wonderful daughter. Black and white eyes never were so passionate.

There’ll be so many words said, feelings expressed – real grief and shared loss, from ordinary people about a truly extraordinary Wests Magpies/Wests Tigers man. However, every forum discussion will be a little less now.

My deepest condolences and love to his wife, family and friends at this tragic time.

My wife Annie (aka Bon Vivant in all those fun fantasy games) joins me in expressing her condolences to everyone.

Geoff will never be forgotten within this forum.

I first had the pleasure of meeting Geoff in person 2 years ago, after engaging with him virtually for some 17+ years prior. Last time I saw him we sat through the somewhat dour Tigers v Dragons game at Wests Ashfield, after having met Stefano Utoikamanu. True to form I could only buy him a coke, and helped myself to several half-price beers.

Geoff was a quietly-spoken, genuine, sensible fellow, with a wry sense of humour and a deep love and knowledge of Wests Tigers. I appreciated how even-handed he always was in person and online; always diplomatic and measured with the often mercurial Tigers fandom that he engaged with on multiple platforms.

I am pleased to see in this thread the outstanding recognition of Geoff's years and years of service to the Tigers community. You can see he was respected by all-comers; even those who might historically be online foes would all appreciate Geo's feedback.

I am sad that I will not be able to hang out with Geoff again, but am gladdened by the response of this forum to this sad news.

Vale.

Wow, I didn’t know what to expect when I was opening up this thread but the message of Geo passing was the most shocking news. I did not have the pleasure of knowing Geo personally but I always enjoyed his humorous posts on the forum and loved it when I would get a like or comment from him in return.
My absolute heartfelt condolences to Geoff’s family and friends, my thoughts are with you in this tough time.

I still remember my early days on the forum. I'd never really experienced an online forum before. And I'd made a few posts about supporting Sheens and getting behind the team. And I copped a bit of flack from some more seasoned posters. Geo stepped in with kind words and encouragement and really made me feel welcome here.

Genuinely saddened by the news and that's a testament to Geo. Losing someone that many of us may have never met in person, but still feel as though he was a huge part of our lives.

Rest easy Geo, you will be missed.

Wow just woke up and noticed the thread titled Geo

Like others I was wondering what to expect

So shocked to hear this news

RIP legend

Condolences to family and friends

As already stated you could tell he was a loved member of this forum by the way he mixed so easily with the rest of us

He could calm any situation that arose

Will be dearly missed

Rest In Peace Geoff. My condolences to his family, friends and forum members.

It is incredible the way I am feeling at the moment, never met Geoff personally, only here on the forum in various threads have I conversed with Geo. Chuckled at many of his posts, agreed and disagreed on others. Such was his contribution to the forum that I feel like I have lost a dear friend.

I will miss his contribution and comments, Rest In Peace Geo.

Somehow I missed this yesterday.
Saddened to wake up and read this.
Have been butting heads and having a laugh with Geoff since the early 2000’s…a very passionate Tigers man, with a wicked sense of smart arse about him! He was a good one.
Condolences to everyone that knew him, May he Rest In Peace.

In my short few years here, I didn't miss a Geo post. His contributions were thoughtful, considered and respected.

This is not the sort of news you ever expect to hear about a major contributor to places like these. Thanks for the interactions, mate. Rest in peace.
