He is upset with the current negotations at Manly stalling and said he will look elsewhere.
He is a massive man and doesnt miss many tackles - he offloads a lot although doesnt play a lot of game time.
Would Steve Folkes be able to whip him into a an attacking weapon????

Would you be happy with him at the Tigers?

Well Folkes is leaving the Tigers at the end of the season.

George Rose though… hmm, he seems like a dickhead, but he's a tough prick. Probably good.

i would like us getting him at the right price

Free? and sans 15 kilos.

He's overhyped, overrated, and falls into the category of "Big fat guy with heart" much like all the other out of shapers in the league who get admired for their "courage" and "toughness" when really the commentators should be saying is "He goes alright for a fat guy"

At the end of the day, doesn't play enough minutes, get lazy in defense around the ruck, lets bad decisions get to him, and gives away silly penalties.

He's a less effective version of Carl Webb.

i reckon he is great! would love him at the tiges…

maybe if he did move he could become next years cuthbertson (ie; lose weight and play more)?

I'm pretty sure Rose is a Penriff boy so I'm sure Sheens will love that.

He's fairly quick for his size and if they did trim him down you'd probably get more minutes out of him. Having said that, I wouldn't touch him as we have enough players coming through.

Exactly my point.

kidding right! We had a couple of big overweight front rowers who occassionally did something dumb but usually played well and we sent them both to the sharks why would we pick up a similar player for more money and less heart.

I like big George as a player & i think he would go o.k i a tigers jumper, a big jumper @ that but @ the right price i think he would be a good buy.

Everytime he takes a hit up, he presses through the line and helps get a roll on. Similar to galloway, accept in fact Rose has quicker leg drive.

I would take Rose in a heartbeat. In regards to taking a first up hit up, I think hed be better than every single one of the Tigers pack.

Rose is the Tookey for a new generation.

Fat dude with a bit of grub work in him. Helps remove the professional athelete loftiness from the NRL and I am good with that

Id take him on a back ended performance based contract with a condition that his playing weight is under 108kg. Unlike gold, he is more valuable the less there is of him.

I dont care about his weight. He has size and is a workhorse. Not sure what he would cost but it is worth a sniff.

I think his one of the more better props going around. Him and Galloway would be close to the best start up prop combination in the comp if we had it.

To have a good roll on in a set, someone has to make a good first up hit up. Its really hard for the hookers and backrowers to really bend the line if the previous hit up has been hammered. When rose takes a hit up, he carries the guys forward. Guys like Farah, Heighno and Ellis would be really good running after Rose.

No way!! Lets keep the Sea Eagle recruiting days behind us please! Terry Hill and Hoppa still haunt the Tigers.

George rose seems like another Sea Eagle tool that will take our good guy image backwards.
