George Rose

He would have to come at a bargain basement price IMO not a big enough workload to justify big dollars.

The more i think about big George the better it sounds if he came to us, Yes he might be fat but he can play footyball.

I think he's got the talent, but his weight and lack of fitness has gone against him.

If you get his fitness up and he plays more minutes, then I think he would be a good buy.

I've always liked his ability to break the line ….

I think it would be a great buy. When we bought galloway he was just big tall lanky red head with no heart now look at him now his in the top 10 props in the game

Anyone know how old he is? It seems he has been around for a while. He's a Bathurst product orginally by the way.

You know I have been thinking to myself that Rose has been quite good this year. You don't want him on the field in the last 10 minutes if you trying to hold a 2 point lead though. He will be blowing big ones on the sideline in no time.

It'll kind of depend on what they want him for. If he is simply an impact forward, then you could rotate him with Woods who is more your grinding type prop & get quite a useful contribution. Rose could go on when Galloway goes off to give the Tigers that continual 'big guy' prop at all times. Or you could start both of them & get a roll-on early & interchange them after 15-20 minutes for guys like Woods & Groat.

So long as Rose is not signed as a cure for what ails the Tigers- there is value there. At a reasonable cost, he would be worth an investment.

No way!! Lets keep the Sea Eagle recruiting days behind us please! Terry Hill and Hoppa still haunt the Tigers.

George rose seems like another Sea Eagle tool that will take our good guy image backwards.

Agree Hammertime.

I got shivers down my spine when I saw this thread.

Same Spartan! I hope that management has their head screwed on. Those were some dark days. Being the good guys has helped us become competitive financially.

Players with attitude like George Rose can stay where they are!

Lets hope management know what they are doing.

who cares if he is a bit fat. he is a prop and a big aggressive one at that. he would be a good signing unless he wants too much $$$

with payten, gibbs and fifita going we need props! woods, begovich and groat could be good but they are young and we need some older and more experienced front rowers with them

I can agree with that - but is George the answer ??????

He's played more than 50 minutes once this season, and 40 or fewer seven times. Frankly if Hasler can't get him in better shape (or sees no point in doing so) I don't like our chances.

NO !!

we have some good front row talent coming through, Woods, Groat, BMM Bergovich, as well Blair and ellis will play some minutes in the front row while we bring youngsters through, we are sweet for props
