Why does everyone think Staines will go well here?
Penrith didn’t rate him top 17 unless injuries occurred.
I know their side eclipses ours by some way but I’ve never seen him play in top grade anytime in the past couple of years and thought “I hope we can sign him”.
He is filler at the moment for mine.

He was a standout junior at fullback. He is tall and fast.

Not all players gel with the coach also had Edwards blocking his way playing preferred position fullback.

Good chance a good coach can unlock his potential.

Has all the attributes.

Yet to be proven in first grade, yet we are willing to sacrifice the bloke the club has been working on for 2 years for him?
I don’t believe it.

I think there is a lot of hope attached to the entire squad, not just Staines, so my feeling is wait and see when trials roll around as to the coaches line of thinking and player attitudes.
And that well might change in the early rounds.
Remember a few years ago when we played a really good trial v Manly, and Laurie had a standout game - but that’s where it ended, so whilst trials will answer some questions, I’m sure it’ll raise many new ones.
It should be very interesting to watch the evolution of this squad, especially after what has happened in the last 3 seasons.

Laurie was pretty atrocious there last season hope do not see him coming up in the line so much this year has some bad habits in defence

Drives me insane how much he defends in our line .
Hopefully that was coached.I still have hope for him ,but he needs to work on lots of things .
