Gibbs

gibbs have given away to many penalties to make origon

Then he should be a dead certainty, the selectors will view that as mongrel and being made for origin wont they? With the selectors throwing Gallen and Ennis in there. :stuck_out_tongue:

I could name a dozen props better than Gibbs:

1.Brett White
2.Petero Civoniceva
3.Andrew Fifita
4.Ben Hannant
5.Justin Poore
6.Fuifui Moimoi
7.Aiden Tolman
8.Dave Taylor
9.Roy Asotasi
10.Luke Bailey
11.Steve Price
12.George Rose

Lol, that took all of 5 minutes. There's no way the bloke can even be considered, he's not even the best prop at WT.

fail

Hes going well….but hes not Origin level
Whilever we have Sheens none of our players will be origin standard

I wonder what wouldve happened had Gibbs gone to melb & Hoffman stayed here?

not a fan of gibbs, has his moments, but seems to never try as hard as galloway/heighno etc.. and just is almost guaranteed to give 2 or 3 penalties away for stupid things.

My opinion anyway.

Rothfield has no idea,he picked cronulla to win the comp.
But cronulla have Douglas and Snowden,so Gibbs would be on the bench there, but Gibbs has been good this year,he gets a bad wrap which is unwarranted.

1.Brett White - When he aint injured, he's usually suspended, soft, DUMB player.
2.Petero Civoniceva - Obvious
3.Andrew Fifita - Potentially, but Owen Craigie was potentially better than Brett Kenny once upon a time
4.Ben Hannant - Yes
5.Justin Poore - , Preston Campbell would be a better prop than this pillow.
6.Fuifui Moimoi - Aside from 6 weeks at the backend of last year, he's done nothing.
7.Aiden Tolman - How about he goes around for more than a few months before we decide that.
8.Dave Taylor - Awful prop….but good back rower.
9.Roy Asotasi - Obvious
10.Luke Bailey - He was, but now he doesn't offer anything out of the ordinary.
11.Steve Price - Obvious
12.George Rose - At eating hamburgers?

Out of those 12, there are 4 better than him at this time and they are all test props.

It has been a while since I have been impressed by Asotasi. Still a solid player, but no where near the heights to which he once climbed.

Yeah sure Bryce gives away some dumb penalties but he's still done something that Citizen Cub's Top 12 haven't done, that's win a (legitimate*) Premiership, * refers to players 1 & 7.
Also he's one of ours, a genuine Junior who's Dad also played for one half of the joint venture, so back off Bryce OK!.

so by your reckoning does that make fitzy a top 12 winger because hes won a premiership?

Makes far more tackles and hit-ups than Galloway does. He works just as hard as Heighno too, numbers won't be as big because he plays less minutes.

Very unfair to question his commitment. One of the hardest defensive workers in the side.

The point I'm trying to make is, Gibbs is clearly no going to play origin

Maybe not this year. I for one made the call in 2005-6 that he would play for NSW. Since then 2007-08-09 I thought he was no chance and what was I thinking.

However his form this year has been good enough but he has too many in front of him in the selectors mind for this season.

For a prop he is fit and is a great defender. If he continue to make good meters he is still young enough to play a lot of origin in the future. At this stage I have a feeling that my original call will come true for Gibbs.

12.George Rose

Has had one good game all year (against us). Is nothing but a fat lazy pig.

More impact than Gibbs mate

I don't care for impact if it is inconsistent and he can't play any longer than 30 minutes.

No way in the world would I swap George Rose for Byrce Gibbs. That would be another 20 points scored against us every week.

I've been a hater of Gibbs for the past few years, but he's got it together this year and looks the goods. Origin, not yet but if he keeps up this form till next year, definitely a contender for a jumper.
