Glad I didn't buy a jersey

Just found out we are getting a new apparel provider next year meaning we will have the same designs as this year but in a higher quality jersey and fabric. Can't wait and I hope we get one of the good providers like CCC, Nike, Adidas, Asics, ISC or even BLK. I am so fed up with the XBlades gear it's not funny

Was thinking about this the other day and looking at other clubs jumper cut, Parra have Asics, it looks like crap, I assume therye the cheapest too but maybe this BLK mob are too…Im guessing Nike & CCC & Adidas would be expensive for the club.
We will go the cheapy Id say

From what I have been told (from a manufacturer), the club doesn't pay, the manufacturer actully pays to be the one chosen. Manufacturers make their money off teamwear (so local clubs, schools, minor teams) and then that allows them to make plays for the bigger club contracts, which is why the newer companies are slow to get into the market but can expand quickly once their lower level business picks up (like the manufacturer I heard this from was doing).

As for who we go with I have a funny feeling that it will be a company that utilises raglan sleeves. What makes me think this is the strange decision to go with the current V design. Now normally on a regular cut jersey a V will have a straight ending to it at the top so that it meets the cur of the jersey, however ours has a rounded end which just happens to end roughly where the raglan cut would be. When I first saw the chosen design (which was the only one with a different top to the V's) I automatically thought we were going to have that sleeve cut this year, but we didn't. Now I may be over thinking it but it seems that perhaps the final V design was planned that way for a jersey cut rather than just a way for the design to look.

Here is a list of possible companies (including a couple that are currently not in the NRL but could step up/return and of course the current) and if they use that sleeve cut or not:

Adidas - No
Asics - Yes
Blades - No
BLK - Yes
Canterbury - Yes (slight variation to the normal)
Fi-Ta - Yes
ISC - Yes
Nike - No

My guess would be ISC (has majority of the leagues teams) or BLK, with Canterbury a close 3rd.

Interesting Creagus

Is Raglan cut sort of where the sleeve stitch meets the body of the garment?

You clearly know your stuff, is there a club that wears Asics currently or was I seeing things?

Panthers are with asics

A raglan sleeve is a sleeve that extends in one piece to the neckline of a coat or sweater with seams from the armhole to the neck, for example the Raiders:

We could only dream of the deal the All Blacks have but this article is an interesting insight into jersey manufacturing.

Im hoping Kooga who make the wallabies jerseys get the job they do fantastic high quality

Just of note, though it has nothing to do with KooGa/BLK and their product, the Wallabies are now with Asics.

Correct, KooGa Australia rebranded as BLK due to the following:

“The Brant family owns KooGa in Australia. However, we don’t own the KooGa brand for the Northern Hemisphere.
“We were building the brand for them in England and they were not doing anything. So, we thought to buy the brand for our regions.
“There were seven teams in the World Cup who wore KooGa and all from us, none from the Northern Hemisphere.
“We were doing all the work but they were benefiting from it. On their website, they had all our teams on it and we could not do anything about it.
“All these guys were buying products and paid us royalties but we were hardly getting anything in return. KooGa England did not allow us to distribute it ourselves.
“So we decided to launch seviin by KooGa Australia and BLK by KooGa Australia.
