Yes

Sean Meaney

:roll

Yes, Meaney would have to be it, wouldn't he? That should be a deadset thread ender. He's so "good" he's considered a "senior member" of the Wests Tigers Squad amonst the likes of Farah, Anasta and Marshall…..

My local rag the Camden/Wollondilly Advertiser did a piece about a year ago on the Camden Rams Captain (I can't remember his name, sorry) who was being celebrated for playing his 200th game as Captain of the First Grade team.

I remarked that it was quite an achievement to one of my work colleagues at the time who said to me -

"Is it? To be told you are the effectively the BEST at your club for the past 10 years, and obviously never quite kick on to Reps, or even get a fair crack in the likes of State Cup?"

I't was quite a snide comment, but it did make me wonder what was going through that blokes mind regarding missed opportunites, etc, let alone what a player like Meaney, or Josh Davis, or Pat Politini must feel like hovering SO CLOSE, yet so far.

Meaney is playing Rugby Union now isn't he

One of the Mums from the young fellas footy team is related through to Sean

I think Hyland is at North Syd Bears…
Was the last I heard.

He never really kicked on.

Was he a lock forward that could play hooker or what

Is Matt Hyland still playing NSW Cup?

He was spruiked as a superstar but never made it into NRL.

Where was he spruiked? My memory was that everyone thought he was slightly too small to make it in the NRL.

Maybe self promoted!! Had a high work rate but offered little in attack.

He was fairly highly regarded, made the NYC team of the year.

Size and impact was always the query.

We are seeing it again with Gamble… Hopefully Ty is a bit more successful than Jake

Always one! Isn't there…

Looking through threads and a few had high hopes for Jesse Parahi.. He was gonna be our gun centre / lock.

Gosh Demps had this thread in your back pocket? I couldn't understand the line of discussion here, Matt Hyland, Sean Meaney, then I realise it goes back to 2016 and 2013 originally.

Drinkwater is one of the ultimate state cup heroes. A really fine reserve-grade footballer, almost too silky for that level, but then no impact whatsoever when he gets promoted to firsts. Proof is he's played 5 FG NRL games in 6 years at two clubs.

I personally believe when it comes to reggies, sometimes it's harder to distinguish wingers and forwards then the rest of the backs. There are some wingers and forwards who are ok in reserves, when promoted to firsts, still look ok. There aren't many Taumololo's out there who destroy their way through seasoned defences at any level.

People say McQueen isn't setting the world on fire in reserves, and frankly I haven't seen many matches all the way through, but I bet if he does get picked in firsts this year he'll play alright.

Took Kevin ten years to make first grade and now he's a regular….
Maybe if Drinky stuck at it he coulda broke through too. Lol ??‍♂️

Our man Mahe is a first grader.
Was at Melbourne and surely has just become one at the tigers too.

Don't think he was bought to tear up the wing in IsC… Maybe that's nofos job from now on.

Josh Drinkwater too it seems.
Carves up super league and ISC but isn't a first grader when he gets the chance.
