Gold Coast Titans Possible Rebranding and Move...

if Ribot has is nose in it then it's no good for anybody but Ribot.....

I would be disappointed if the Titans went under. Whilst I don't hate them or love them, I think it would be a shame for them to re-locate....They, like us, just need some sustained success.

@jirskyr "Terrific forward pack" 😅 Raiders still laughing that they bought Shannon Boyd. In good *uninjured * players they really only have Kevin Proctor.

Yeah didn't that turn out poorly? Honestly I didn't think it was a bad signing at the time, but Titans have a horrid track record IMO of getting no value out of potentially good signings, possibly worse than Warriors or Tigers.

With Ryan James 6 of his 8 seasons he has played almost every game

After the Giants, Seagulls, and Chargers, the Titans are surely the last throw of the dice for a Rugby League team on the Gold Coast. I don't think the NRL would abandon them that quickly. Especially with an equally strugglying AFL team ready to pounce.

And if they did move the team surely it wouldn't be to Brisbane. The last time we had a second Brisbane team they only lasted 3 seasons ... another QLD team would have to be based outside of the Capital.

Also, Ribot and Johns don't have any official standing in the game, so its probably all just speculation and wishful thinking at this stage.

I think the Gold Coast suffers from plenty of population, but an awful lot of them being from other parts of Australia. Retirees from Sydney and Melbourne mostly. Maybe there are a lot of local folks second team. And maybe a huge swathe of the population just don't follow the game. I don't think the AFL team goes overly well with it's fan base either. They do often send out players to Juniors training nights and games. They try to promote. It's kind of hard when they come to training and all the kids are wearing the colours of the teams that their parents have convinced them to support. I hope they can stick it out.

poorly marketed, poorly run team, they have a pretty big area all to themselves and just can't get it right.............which is a shame.

Your pretty close to the mark. A lot of transient people live on the GC from other States/Territories and from across the dutch plus the long haulers from those same States/Territories and of course NZ that are already set on their first string team...To get the locals on board straight off the bat they should of called them the G.C Bears because of the Burleigh Bears (local team and feeder club to the Titans) and of course every body’s second favourite team The Nth Sydney Bears...That right there would of established a fantastic fan base.
