Good Coach any Ideas?

But i also think brad fittler could be a good coach for us. He knows a lot about the modern game and the style that its played.

As greater player Fittler was his best coaching option would be the local U/12's with Beetson by his side.

We need a coach that can attract the odd elite player to the club, Sheens might be good at getting the young kids to the club or retaining some of the juniors but barring Ellis and that was Mark Oneils hard work, we never ever seem to get close to signing quality players. For what ever reason they dont want a bar of us.

Anyway I would be keeping away from the old guard, Murray,Folkes,Lang Anderson etc, turning my attention to the new breed, Dymock,Flannagan,Kearney or maybe if was to go for a coach who has been in the NRL Nathan Brown would be a fair choice.

Not going to happen in 2010, but 90% chance we will see a change in 2011

hes had a bit of a break away from footy and i think if we get off to a shocker next year he should be the guy to take over

He missed them in 2002, 2005 and 2008, maybe a few more as well.

That said, I do rate Folkes as a coach.

yeah i didnt count 02 because even though they got the spoon it was politics not performance that got them there

jamie feeney has done wonders with central coast Storm in nsw cup.

Maybe you may need to reframe the question:

"What NRL standard coach out there would want/accept the Wests Tigers coaching job?"

It is all well and good in throwing out a dream team of possible names for coach but past experience has shown that we are not a desired place to be.

Things are a lot better than they were when we last were looking for a coach, though
I wonder how many are put off by the Magpies/Balmain baggage we carry?

I would have thought WT would be a dream appointment at the moment. Low expectations from fans (imagine taking over from Bennet at Broncoes) great potential in the squad (Benji and co) get to live in Sydney (sure beats Canberra) and the club is popular.

Kearney would be my pick, an astute coach with a lot of experience in a winning culture under great coaches like Bellamy and Bennett. I would have been leaning towards Johny Lang but I'm not sure if a younger coach with fresh ideas might be the best shot.

I'd go with Mick Potter as coach and David Waite as a coaching director to take care of our structure which most young coaches struggle with at first. This would allow Potter to concentrate on the team while having one of the great tactician brains in Waite to assist when Mick wants.

Forget any of the THREE AMIGOS …There are coaches just salivating to get there hands on this young Tigers side.. I would go for Folkes this guy can coach has had a year off and stated he wants to coach NRL again. The Dogs under his guidness had the winning culture he is definatly a winner

nah jokes

Sleety I'd go for Baa any day before the Fonz. At least Baa picked the best players.

hahahaha, do u remember the guy he called The Silent Assassin? Trent Runcimen was continually picked, even before Mark O'neill at one stage.

Hmmm. Ok. You have a point. But you know where Im coming from.

Steve Folkes for sure. not nathan brown. he is too young.
Flokes was excellent at the dogs. he instilled in them that ruthless attitude we need.

If were looking for a defensive specialist with a bag of tricks to go with, the Board and Management should look no further than one Guus Hiddink  I mean, he did the unthinkable and got the Socceroo's to a World Cup. Surely he can get Wests Tigers to a Finals series?

And that's like all we need!! ANOTHER Guus running the show!!

Noel Kelly - any slackers or backchatters would be given the option of a "quiet chat " behind the grandstand.

I've just submitted my application. My record of 4 straight final series as a coach of the Wests Tigers in Rugby League 2 should see me right. If anyone would like be my assistant coach, just ask! First in, best dressed.
