Did anyone notice at the start of the game how Penrith kept moving off the mark? It is super annoying and I am sure the ref must have spoken to them at half time coz she stopped doing that. Should've been asked to go back in 50% of the PTBs

Didn’t really deserve it either I reckon, there were better players on the field tonight. Some of the storm forwards were excellent, but they always just give these awards to the flashy players not the ones who really win them the game. I can’t believe Smith has never won it!

It’s obvious what 9 wanted the narrative to be. It was Penrith’s night and Melbourne were just supposed to be there. Thankfully with the Storm dominating for 70 minutes, it made it funny. It only got mildly annoying in the last 10 minutes when they started to get excited thinking the unthinkable was possible. Gus and his “young Panthers” every 5 minutes, and going on how he’s seen them come back 20 times, then getting his ego stroked when they started to come back again. He’d have taken so much credit if Penrith had won. You can only imagine the rubbish he’d have been saying had we been watching Penrith celebrate at the end “I knew this day was going to come. These young Panthers always had it in them”. Instead, he must have left the box because he did not say a word. Karma got him last night as good as it got Ivan.

While I wanted the Storm to win I found I couldn't really enjoy the game due to the refereeing. It was appalling in both halves and the bunker was as terrible.

Congrats to young Paps, he had a blinder and was the deserved winner of the CCM. Thought Welch, NAS and Finucane were good as well.
Poor Panthers looked lost and were really lacking that big game experience.... but then again most teams come up short against them(Melb).
Not really a fan of him but felt for young Naden. What a moronic decision from Ivan.
Also, hope that game doesn't take too much confidence from Nathan Cleary going into Origin. Despite any personal hatred for his father, I think he's had a fantastic year.

How bad was Gould's commentary? Was like nails on a chalkboard. I honestly would've preferred listening to Nable, Ginnane and Braith over him.

Yep hopefully nrl and 9 actually do something about it
